I hate importing... I prefer sticking to US released goods if at all possible. I will import if I have to though, I got a cart only copy of Donald in Maui Mallard for Mega Drive not too long ago. But that's ONE game, not a whole system or library of games, which is why I'm not keen on Saturn importing.
I guess that means TG16 isn't worth picking up... :(

There are good games. Things like Neutopia I and II, a few good shooters, etc. Help me out people its been a while. Just don't spend to much on one on plain Jane tg16. Keep it to like $30-$40. Duos are expensive but the do allow the ability to play cd titles minus the arcade card games. Of course Cd games can also be played on emulators.
Why do you hate importing? If you look around the right places (i.e. Rising Stuff, Rakuten), you can find stuff for fairly cheap and there's no real hassle. Why limit yourself to just US games?Quote:

So does $30 - $40 count eBay in too? Shipping costs would bump it up another $20 wouldn't it? If so, then I'd say TG16's are pretty worthless (unlike what I'm seeing on eBay). If not, seems about right.
Maybe I'll get one, maybe I won't. It'd be more than welcome among my collection of games and would fit in nicely with the consoles attached to my RF-only TV (those being NES, SNES and Atari 7800).

Well you can use a Genesis rf and Ac adapter. If you can find a loose one all you need would be a controller. I wish I had one with a working RF. I would gladly sell you one and not rip you off on the shipping.
I was thinking about that too. I heard you could just use a Genesis RF switch and AC Adapter. I'm not sure if I still have a spare M1 supply, but I do have some regular RF switches (Nintendo used the same ones, just different box). What's broken about the RF with those TG16s you have? Also, why is it nobody has made a composite mod for the TG16 yet? Turbo Boosters are hard to find.

There's a loose system with no nothing on the 'bay right now. Look dusty.
It can be done and it looks easy. The fear usually is killing the pins in the expansion port in the back.

Interesting. Looks like it uses those plugs you'd find inside a Game Gear. Can't you just mod jacks onto the case and pull the signals from inside the console though?
I would think so. That pic is just the most simple way to do it but not the cleanest to be sure.
So, given the discussion so far, should I get a Turbo or not?
1: It depends on where you look. Rising Stuff usually ships games for about $5 or so, which is pretty cheap considering they're based in Japan. A lot of eBay sellers who sell imports do overcharge on shipping however.Quote:

I found collecting imports games for it to be not that expensive. Certain games are going to cost a lot, but there are plenty of cheap ones. Definitely cheaper than collecting saturn imports. All I want is a reasonable price on Battle Garega (sp?) or Batsugun but I just can't seem to find one.
My buddy went to some used game stores in Japan and they had barrels literally full of loose HuCards.

...but having just read your comment about your RF unit tv...you might as well skip this "worthless" system...and anything released after the atari 5200 for that matter.
