Beejive is a IM client that can stay logged in to multiple accounts for upto 7 Days without loggin you out even once you have closed the app. It also uses Push notifications. I use this app every day and it saves me a nice amount of texts.
Before it gets started, can we please use this thread to talk about iphone games worth getting and not argue about the iphone?
The port of Doom is pretty good. I was also playing around with the Red Alert demo and it seemed pretty fun. I want to see Age of Empires on there.
I love Katamari, Canabalt, and Hookchamp are my favorite games on the Iphone games currently. The Genesis emulator is pretty good too.

First off, I use Yelp for EVERYTHING. You can find reviews, get quick directions, and phone numbers fast. I find this app far more practical than using google in the web browser for 411-type info. Definitely my most used app.
Next is Pandora. Works like the site, good for when I want to listen to something other than what's in my library.
NIN: access is a little-known (but official) Nine Inch Nails app. You have to be a fan to appreciate it, but it comes with a wealth of goodies. Wallpapers, streaming mp3s of EVERY NIN song, news, etc... And it's completely free. Trent Reznor understands his audience.
Flixter, to me, is the movie app equivalent to Yelp. It's easy to find showtimes, rate movies, see what's coming out, etc... You can call theaters directly from the app, map directions, find Yelp approved restaurants near by, and even link to your facebook account so the ratings you give show up as status updates. One of the best free apps available.
The Amazon app is just a shortcut to their streamlined website. I'm an Amazon.com addict (Prime member!), so I use this a lot to quickly buy used paperbacks and games. Nothing special, but nice to have.
Flashlight is unnecessary, but aren't most apps unnecessary? :D
Shazam is no longer a gimmick for me, as it identified The Seldom Seen Kid by Elbow, playing in a noisy bar, which turned into a solid purchase for me!
Photobucket is about as useful as a free photo hosting app can be. I'm usually away from my usb cable, so when I'm at work and want to post a photo here or anywhere else, it's nice to just upload it wirelessly through Photobucket. In fact, it's how I uploaded the above screen-capture...
MyFanTeams and Fantasy'09 are both pretty self-explanatory. I'm big into both fantasy football and baseball, so these are handy to have when I'm not around a computer (say, when I'm at a tailgate party!). Fantasy'09 is limited to Yahoo Football and works REALLY well, while MyFanTeams works with a variety of sports, but isn't as user friendly.
As for games...
Vay is awful due to it's terrible controls. I was a fan of the original, and although the new battle visuals are well done, the stiff controls make the game joyless.
Word Ace is a fun little mix of Scrabble and Texas Hold-'Em. You're dealt letter cards, each with a different values. You then wager as more cards are dealt, culminating in trying to spell the longest and/or highest scoring word. Fun online play.
Infinity Gene is an enhanced port of Space Invaders Extreme. It's simple and fun. There's a cool little mode in which the game creates new levels based on your musical library, but I've found that these level become repetitive fast. May have something to do with my taste in music...
Tap Tap Metallica is exactly that - a tap tap game featuring Metallica songs! I'm a big fan of the band, so this was a nice little purchase. As an added bonus, a level of difficulty allows for songs in landscape mode, which keeps the experience fresh. Still, I'm not the biggest fan of the tap tap games in general as they seem to lack the consistent accuracy that a touch screen game should have.
anything from Gameloft, it's all gold. GT Racing is probably the best portable racing sim I've played.

Pocket Tunes is the best radio app for the iphone (IMO). You can search for stations by groups (rock/hiphop/metal/blues) in any country, city or town. You can also add radio stations to the app if you know the url. The best function on the app has to be the ability to record live radio and save it to your iphone!
Pocket Tunes has many features and after using it for about 4 months now against the other radio players from the app store, I have also noticed that it is the most battery friendly.
I feel I should mention FluxTunes for all of you that keep your iPhone in a dock and use it as your primary music source when you drive. It basically is just an iPod frontend that lets you manage your songs/playlists with just swipes of your finger. Up and down adjusts volume, 1 finger left and right goes to the next song, 2 fingers goes to the next playlist, and 3 fingers skips along the song in preset increments. There are other gestures like rotating 2 fingers to turn on the shuffle feature as well. Awesome app and is SOOO much easier than fumbling with the standard controls while you bounce down the road trying to tap tiny buttons and volume sliders. It even auto-dims so you don't kill your battery or overly distract yourself at night.
While not as functional as what you just listed, the iPhone is already equipped to handle song and volume changing while driving. All you have to do is push the home button (assuming that's what it's called) twice, and you'll be able to switch between songs and change volumes without having to access the iPod app.Quote:

I know, that's how I used to do it, and it was horrible as my finger seemed to hit everything but what it was supposed to while I nearly caused accidents. Fluxtunes allows you to hit the whole screen or make full screen gestures, making it infinitely easier to pull off while driving. I mean, it's only 99¢, an iPhone mount will cost you alot more than that.Quote:

Finger Beat is your very own pocket studio, And to be honest with you its a bit of fun. You can actually get some good ideas down on your iphone until you get a chance to get back infront of your DAW of choice. If you wanted something to keep you busy on a long flight or amuse you whilst in the waiting room at the gum clinic, This is for you. It could do with a EQ but other than that its pretty cool.
Beatmaker is ment to be much better but as i havent used it, So i could not put it up here. If someone has it maybe you can.
Also where are the rest of you iphone guys on this site? You aint repping

Playing SF4 and it's actually alright! Don't expect anything too deep but it's heavy for passing the time. SF4 in your pocket is neva a bad thing.......

It works as good as you could ask a touch screen to work for this type of game (custom positioning of the buttons and joystick helps ALOT), but I'm kinda bummed they didn't include online play. You can play locally, but I'd like to be able to jump on 3G and kick some ass.
If anyone is wondering, it's not really rendered in 3D, it's actually more like a Donkey Kong Country affair, but it plays smooth and looks good. Great game considering the platform, but dammit they better add online play.
