Are these two of the best consoles the industry has ever seen? They are both amazing pieces of hardware from SEGA (at there time) and they both paved the way for games we play today. Did you defend them like they was your mother and how would you feel if Nintendo dident back out of there SONY deal and the PlayStation never was.
What would SEGAs consoles be like today?
When it comes to consoles, I get them all. I play them for the games they offer. SEGA was just a awesome as Nintendo/Sony. there is no best in my game room

Sony barely had any good first party games for their system though, most people praise the PlayStations for their high levels of third party software, which you know isn't always a good thing (See NES, Wii, DS etc). So really you would say Sony's consoles had good third party software, not that Sony was a good company. Nintendo and Sega were great companies because of the first party software they had.Quote:

That's a ridiculous argument. You'd be hard-pressed to pick out 150 good games for any console, first-party or otherwise. But you couldn't have picked a worse console to include in your list with the Wii, since (well, I'm just gonna go ahead and say it) no other console in the history of video games has had as many third-party titles that have been as popular as the first-party titles.Quote:

Gonna have to go with MrMatthews on this one. *I* could name 150 good/great/fun NES games. *IF* I go through all that work, what are you gonna give me for it? Plus, Wii? I couldn't name like more than 10 games I WANT to own on that system. And that's stretching it a bit.
MrX. Genesis needed no defending. The games spook for themselves. I don't remember any school yards fights about the SNES and Genesis. Just referencing Genesis lacking the nice colors and such of the SNES. More of a fact than any sort of argument. The DC however, even when I didn't own one - I was sticking up for it. Man.. the Dreamcast :D How can you not like the DC???
Oh, well then I guess it isn't the console with the highest good to bad ratio in video game history. Only the failed systems have high good to bad ratios. It's been proven time and time again that when a system becomes highly popular, shovelware as well as good developers begin to crowd the platform. The NES has a high amount of shovelware. The PS1, has a high amount of shovelware. The PS2, the DS and Wii have high amounts of shovelware. This you cannot deny. No matter how many good games are on a system (like the NES), there will be at least 2 or 3 bad games for each of those good games.Quote:

Maybe if you're someone who says that the PS2 is awesome. Did it have Jet Grind Radio? NO. Did it have Incoming (which rules on the PC)? NO. Did it have Typing of The Dead? YES. In the US? NO. Did it have Daytona? NO. Did it have at least ONE HotD game (that isn't TotD)? NO. Therefore, DREAMCAST RULES (even though I never played one)!Quote:

@Knuckle Duster: Alright, I have been proven wrong (though I did figure there were over 100 good third party titles). You can all say Guntz is 100% wrong and knows nothing about video games. That's still only about 1/6th of the entire library though. Probably not the best but I bet it beats out the PS1. That thing had upwards of 1000 - 2000 games. Whichin that case 150 good titles wouldn't be very impressive.
