Too bad the music in "Wily Wars" (at least the ROM I played) was fucked up.
I had my pitchfork and torch ready to destroy those who messed up Metal Man's stage music!
I thought of you when I heard that music, Rusty. That was bullshit.
It's on PS2 and GC, I'd probably go for GC, I can vouch for that version personally, the controler might be a point of contention though (I prefer the GC one, though the d-pad sucks, but the analog stick seems to work fine). One neat thing is that on SDTVs on the GC, the game plays in the proper 240p resolution of the original games.
I don't see all that much slowdown in SNES MMX1 though, a lot less than any NES title from what I can see, and MUCH less than Wily Wars.
Wait a minute... is this for the best MegaMan game, or best port?
The MegaMan collections on GC/PS2 were ports as far as know, obviously the Genesis Wily Wars was as well.
I have to say that out of the original series, ie - not including the X games, that MegaMan 3 was my favorite.
Wily Wars includes some new levels. Apparently there are levels where you can mix and match weapons you got from MM 1-3.
So it is kind of a port with a bit of new game.
it's not a port, it's a remake. Nearly all of the graphics are different and many of the physics have been altered and certain things that would work on the NES games (or not work) don't on MMWW. One example off the top of my head is crash man, he's WAY easier on MMWW. Another is the jump at the end of Metal Man's stage, in the NES version you have to be PERFECT to jump the chasm, in the Genesis version, it's cake.
That jump in Metal Man's stage has always been easy. You scoot on the edge until one of Mega Man's feet is still on the edge and jump. If you do this you will nail the jump *EVERY TIME*.
I don't think I've ever died on that jump
Neither have I. But I also learned MM2 tips from a former neighbor, he was a MM1+2 playing machine.
Heh. I have beaten MM1 exactly one time, and it was a feat no doubt possible (for me, at least) only on the Anniversary Collection; and not one I'd imagine repeating.
mega man 2 all the way, but me and mega man 2 go way back and its one of my top 3 favorite video game soundtracks of all time that i can listen to while working out, jogging, driving, whatever:
1.shinobi 3: return of the ninja master
2.MEGA MAN 2
3.musha
i havent played much of anything beyond mega man 3, and i personally dislike the megadrive wiley wars version. the music just doesnt sound as good as it could have.
+1 for that awesome sigworthy statement! its like you read my mind or something:daze:Quote:
They could have fucked up Crash Man's music, I don't care about that.
Nope, it had to be Metal Man's music. My favorite piece in the game!
