2d platformers and shooters. I'm not big on handhelds because most are very uncomfortable, so I've been contemplating buying a Gamecube with GB player so I can play alot more 2d games. As far as new systems go, the PS2 was the last system that even interested me at all.

hmm, ok, now I looked the pic up and the gamepad isn't
what I remembered it to be. Guess Gamecube does not
qualify as "having a good D-pad" after all.

I dunno, I'm not a big fan of the Wii or Natal(most likely), but I see them more as necessary evils as opposed to things that should be done away with completely.

I know that the prospect of virtual reality is quite far away from where we are currently at, but it has got to start somewhere, right? The Wii/Natal may be nothing more than gimmicks at the moment, but who's to say the competition won't one day result in something that is truly substantial.

Ummm... this is what being on a PC is all about.

You obviously haven't thought about having a PC that does nothing but play games... that means a PC that isn't connected to Net, isn't running anything in the background, and has all resources going to Gaming.

LOL Are you kidding... that's funny. Those overpriced 7600 vid cards are jokes compared to what (even by todays standards) my old Gaming Machine has under the hood. The 360 and P3 have 'never' been close to being "competetive" to what the PC can do... gtfoh.

News flash... if you want all the power in the world for an affordable price and ultimate flexibility - it's called a PC:!:

Pc fanboy much? if a pc is so great why is it dying as a proper gaming platform? why do the games look about the same...... It doesnt matter how powerful a pc is because big gaming companys cant be arsed to make the games look better. I will grant you that pc's are better but the gap is only slight and they are so much more expensive. Gone are the days when games looked much better on pc's gone are the many exclusives they used to have. I think pc's have had there day as the best gaming platform all things included. And again yes a pc can run circles round a ps3 and 360 but i havnt seen anything better from a pc than a ps3 graphics wise so whats the point? do you like wasting money?

.02 PC games now will never use the full potential of a 'properally' built PC. This is not Years 2000-2005 anymore. GOW on 360 > GOW on PC.
PC games never look as smooth to me as a console version game.
