Official Plug N Play Thread (Genesis-Oriented).

So, I thought I'd make a thread like this one, since research has only led me to three or four of the sort. I was most recently inspired to make this thread by watching this item on an eBay listing:

I mean, if EA built a one-player Plug N Play (which by the looks of it, it is) for two of its Genny sports titles, then why shouldn't there be more platformer-based Plug N Plays? Or perhaps even Shmups? That's my prerogative. So, perhaps you folks may help me reach a concensus as to the number of Genesis-based Plug N Plays out there. I know of a few others, but I'll grant you dibs on those. I just can't wait to see where this thread takes us.

I think their was a Street Fighter II Plug n Play that was the Genesis SCE version.

I remember one that had the obligatory Sonic title, and a Golden Axe title, and I wanna say Columns and Ecco were there too... I'll have to look some info for that one.

I don't have any pics, but I tried a Plug N Play once which featured the Sonic games. The picture displayed was OK, the sound was horrible though, and the build quality of the controller was absolute crap.

Not exactly genesis related, but there was this Fantastic 4 one with the Thing's face on it. The game inside was like a genesis game, and it also had saving, SAVING in a plug n play!

I own that version. No player names, only numbers.

I have the red & blue Plug 'N Play joysticks and the SF2CE thing,
but damn these things have dirty video output, especially when you're used to crisp RGB video.

That Menacer gun looks pretty sweet btw, I wonder if it could be modded to work with a real Genesis?
would look pretty nice if painted black..

Now that would be something i would buy, a new gun for the Genesis with a switch so it can work as a Justifier but also as a Menacer.

That's because EA only had player licenses for console release back in the day. When it came time to release the Madden PNP they no longer had the rights to use the players' names. Jakks Pacific didn't have the rights like EA did so they released with numbers only, though the players' abilities supposedly mimic the real ones.

They also had this controller that played Star Wars games, along with another that looked like the Millenium Falcon ship.

^I own that controller, but I was thinkng more along the lines of Plug N Plays that play Genesis/MD titles. ;)
