What is a good price for the cdx with the right power supply?
I haven't seen any with all the cables that low. Right now I saw one that is $120 with the cables and 2 controllers and everything with a box is really expensive.
It probably varies a lot, but most of the time I've seen CDX's for sale, they go for $100 to $150 without games. $120 is probably the average you'll find. You're lucky if you can find one under $100, but some people do get lucky. :)
^I agree. $120 seems about average.
i wish I could find a cdx for under 100! I want one!
Are CDX's any more reliable than regular model2 Sega CDs?
So the $85 I paid for a complete boxed one with everything there including the manual was a pretty good bargain? It did take me a while to find such a bargain though.
I haven't seen any figures, but given what the two are designed for, it SHOULD be. A CDX is a portable CD player as well as a SEGA CD - it's meant for being taken out on a run to play your favorite music... on picnics... that sort of thing. A Model 2 (or 1) SEGA CD is meant to be put on a shelf next to the TV and NEVER TOUCHED other than to turn on/off, reset, or insert/remove the CD.
Someone really needs to go for a run / rock climbing / skydive / other with one strapped to their belt, and count how many times it skips. Then produce a graph.
Ya I've heard that the cdx as a cd player has no skip protection at all but I don't care I still want one for an affordable price.
