The story thus far is that Flacko has drawn basically everyone who know who Raul Julia is in animal cartoon form. So we are going to make a video game where we have to hold a fighting tournament to save Zooey Deschanel.

Yeah I'm dead serious about this! We need to come up with a plotline and do preproduction and figure out how we can make it a reality. Why does Zooey Deschanel need to be saved?
I was gonna ask what coding environment would be chosen, but after reading the Sega CD note, I think that would be the best solution. We would never be selling this since it's just community fun. I wish I could code for Genesis/Sega CD, it'd be nice to help out. :(

Is the game going to be entirely from scratch or are you going to, basically, replace sprites and moves on an already existing game? The latter would make more sense, but there'd be some legal bullcrap to go through to do so, I imagine.Quote:

I had a vision that showed me two possible "levels" for this game.
One, set inside a Genesis, features parallax scrolling giant microchips in the background and a green circuit board floor. Behind those giant microchips is a might Blast Processor hard at work.
The 2nd, will be a physical representation of the Sega-16 board itself. Imagine if this place were a giant jawusum club with tables, chairs, and Sega posters on the walls.

Here's what I was thinking for a plot:
199X - Everyone on Earth has been turned into an animal! There is no explanation and scientists are baffled. The only person unnaffected is Zooey Deschanel. A mysterious villain known only as TheEdge is convinced that it is a conspiracy and Zooey is responsible. He kidnaps her and takes her to the top of his office tower...
And then there is a tournament where every floor of the tower has a different theme and when you get to the top we find out that TheEdge is not an animal either and is responsible for the entire thing, trying to cleanse humanity by returning us to our animal roots, while he plans to rule over the new world with his hypnotized queen Zooey.
Something like that?
That sounds like one helluva story!
So what type of announcer would you guys want in this game? Like the over the top Quake guy, or sort of a laid back type of announcer, like the one found in Marvel Vs. Capcom 2?
So where do the Sega-16 warriors come into the plotline?

So Beat-em-up first then a Fighter? It could work. Pick three of the best from the forums to be in the Bemup section and everyone else arrives for the tournament!
By three I mean hack Streets of Rage (any of the three) since by now it'd be too hard to program TWO entirely different games from scratch. Then for the fighting tournament, use SFII Turbo or something.

I think we can have a decent nod to the man like so:
We have a stamina/special bar that fills up with every hit. The name of this bar is the "Awesome Bar" and when it fills up it flashes "JAWUSUM" which allows you to unleash a extra powerful move.
I can try animalizing it if You want, mr Rusty :3
That's it, we need an over-the-top announcer who does nothing but spout RegalSin-Quotes!
Like when a successful counterattack is launched, he yells "You can't handle my jawusumn responses!"
or stuff like
"The bigger they are the higher my flag pole raises."
Honestly, even the cheesiest KoF-fighting messages can't hold a candle to RegalSin-quotes...

Damn I love those nutty names. BTW what are the main characters. Tiido is 1 right? The PS3 box you posted here, I wanna try making a boxart for fun where Tiido and others fight etc. But you can add his quotes on the background like in levels as graffitys or as a board or text etc. Or some random character pops up showing some of these quotes
