Atari Flashback 2+? Yeah, I've been following this for a while. It seems to be largely the same as the Flashback 2, minus some great Activision games plus some meh sports games.
Wow, they completely fubarred the collection... I'm glad I got it when I got it.

"Atari Flashback2+
On January 20, Atari announced pre-orders for the Atari Flashback2+, to be released on February 22, 2010. General Mills simultaneously announced a giveaway sweepstakes for the console, along with other Atari related merchandise, in conjunction with its Honey Nut Cheerios cereal.
Included games
The bulk of the included games in the Atari Flashback2+ are the same. However, Pitfall, River Raid, Wizard, Caverns of Mars, and Atari Climber have been removed. In return a sports section has been added in replacement, that includes Realsports Boxing, Realsports Soccer, Super Baseball, Super Football, and Double Dunk."
I bought the bloody thing specifically for River Raid, Pitfall, Missle Command and Combat... I can't believe they'd take those two absolute Classics out of the roster... what a dumbass move. :?
I'll start caring when they come with a 2600 cart slot.
there a mod you could add a cartridge slot to the Atari flashback version 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U46IW_8vTT0
*poops pants*
The box is enough for me to buy this! It just looks so awesome! Just having something that's like an old Atari but new and in "not used" condition is absolutely priceless. With all the used stuff I buy, I need something that is new and plays the old stuff to remind me how awesome these types of things are.
40 Games built right in to the console: 3D Tic Tac Toe, Adventure™, Adventure™ II, Aquaventure, Arcade Asteroids™, Arcade Pong™, Asteroids Deluxe™, Battlezone™, Centipede™, Combat, Combat 2, Dodge'm, Double Dunk, Fatal Run, Frog Pond, Hangman, Haunted House, Human Cannonball, Lunar Lander™, Maze Craze, Millipede™, Missile Command™, Off the Wall, Outlaw, Quadrun, Radar Lock, Realsports Boxing, Realsports Soccer, Return to Haunted House, Saboteur, Save Mary, Secret Quest, Space Duel, Space War, Super Baseball, Super Football, Video Checkers, Video Chess, Yars' Return™, Yars' Revenge™.
I got mine when it was on preorder with a t-shirt, and yeah, the box is definitely cool. I'm lucky enough to have kept my box from the first FB2. They look pretty good together.
Nice, I got my FB2..Atari should make a system again and start from Ground up..
Aww no Pitfall or River Raid.
Evidently, Vendel, and another Atari Age regular who goes by the name, "Wgungfu" are Atari VCS programmers from way back. The sad fact is that Albert over at Atari Age lets them treat other posters in rude and disrespectful ways (Wgungfu is far worse that Curt, to be fair) without so much as a warning for them to knock off the "disrespectful know it all" act. From what I have seen, they seem to bring too much "appearance of credibility" to the AA site so are given free reign to say and do anything they like. Sad, but true. For this reason alone, I will steer clear of any of their pet projects now and into the foreseeable future.
You know, considering you can fit basically every Atari 2600 ROM into what... 2 to 4MB?... I really see no point in having 20, 40 or 60 games only. Call who needs to be called, get permission, and just put the whole damn thing in one Atari Flashback machine. Then I'd happily buy one without hesitation.
