System 16? Model 2? Naomi? Lindbergh?
Sure they released 'a ton' of platforms, but which was most succesful for Sega & why? What about focusing strictly on one region like Japan, are there any numbers kicking around about their revenue based on specific titles, board sales, etc?
It's worth discussing since they're still in that business, no? Will Ringedge tank or save their asses? :lol:
I have no clue what was the most successful. Would be entertaining to hear the sales numbers though.

Pretty sure it's Naomi. That thing had very long legs. Model 2 is probably second, particularly because of Daytona USA.

Wasn't Daytona one of the mot successful arcade games of all time? Think that would put the Model 2 somewhere in there.

I'm tired of arguing. I have been tired since this moved to the Sega-16 Burning Fist thread. I'm stopping the arguing right here and now. I'd like to call a truce with KD (and Metal Sonic and/or Christuserloeser? The latter started it again) to let the stupid Rap argument finally die. That horse has been so beaten to death you can't tell it's a horse anymore. If KD (and or MS or CUL) are willing to just let the rap argument to rest, I will admit to having no understanding of Rap, but not music. Rap =/= the entire spectrum of music. My understanding of music is just fine thank you.
So, am I just wasting my breath or will KD (and/or MS and CUL) see that I'm not a mindless troll? I was just fine until the Rap thing started.
I'm still skeptical of Ringedge, it's an off the shelf PC specification, but there's little to nothing shown about what's in development for it.

Actually it was Christuserloeser who brought up the joke in the Four Bright Buttons thread. You just helped perpetuate it in that thread. ...back on a related note, I would think Naomi would be pretty high up considering some of the games it had released for it. Guilty Gear X, Virtual On Oratorio Tangram, House of the Dead 2, Crazy Taxi, Dead or Alive 2, there's a lot of Dreamcast classics on there, though I know a lot of arcades were getting near done bringing in arcade machines at this time.
It almost makes me want to think that the Model 2 is probably one of the more successful platforms just due to the fact that there were more buyers in the market.
I keep thinking NAOMI was the most successful...
