Just checking if anyone out there with kids (or sisters) can suggest any good PS2 games for girls. I gave my PS2 to a friend who has two daughter, 9 and 7. I gave them a copy of Lumines, which I thought would be fun. Any other suggestions? I know the PS2 isn't like the Gamecube when it comes to child-friendly software, but still, with the ton of games available, I'd think there'd be something out there. Thanks in advance...

Hey, girls aren't all ponies and pink - many like the same games as guys. Games targeting girls never do well because they target STEREOTYPICAL girls - they're pandering and patronizing. Most girls aren't going to squeal over "Cooking Mama". You'd be better off asking what they like than to ask a bunch of guys what they think girls like. Have your friend take them to GameStop with the promise they can pick out two used games a piece, or something similar.

Girls seem to like Resident Evil/Biohazard, so that's a possibility if they're old enough.
My sisters are addicted to DanceDanceRevolution & (to a lesser extent) Sly Cooper.

It's a surprisingly fun side-scrolling 3D beat-em-up with cel shaded graphics. Even as a guy in my twenties I found it fun, and that should go doubly true for 9 and 7 year old girls.

From the girl gamers I've knows, there tends to be a preference for RPGs, puzzle games, adventure games and such. Most have also liked the Super Smash Bros. series (not PS2 context), though traditional fighting games not as commonly. (granted, much of the above describes my own preferences -except flight sims would be close to the top)
Oh, and 2D platformers. (don't recall as much about 3D platformers)
I'm not so sure about FPSs and such though, my friends and I were big on the N64 at the time I had a far number of good friends who were girls and liked games, so that was around late elementary school and in middle school (~1999-2003), and I really don't recall much about FPSs. Goldeneye was obviously big, but I didn't own that and only rented it (or Agent Under Fire) a few times with friends over.
So most of my experience comes from kids I was friends with while I was growing up. I can't say what most like now though as most of them I've not kept in touch with and/or have moved away. (happened with a lot of my good friends, not just the girls ;))
That and I didn't make nearly as many female friends in that context once I reached high school.
Rayman 2 Revolution, Klonoa 2, Okami, Katamari, Beyond Good & Evil, Lego Batman/Star Wars/Indy, Spongebob Squarepants The Movie, Kingdom Hearts, Sly Cooper.
For PS1 pick up Tomba!, Spyro the Dragon, Crash Bandicoot 3, Crash Team Racing.
Good games that they ought to enjoy in the future as well as now. Who knows though, some kids hate gaming & love the Hanna Montana shit.
Get the Guitar Hero games, The crappy Kareoke Singing games. Kids love that crap.

Have to agree with Chilly Willy a bit. I think the question might have generated more helpful responses about qaulity that kids might like, rather than what girly girl game should I tell em' to waste money on, you know, because they're girls. It's no wonder so few play games later in life, they're given this crap to start with. :|
