About my li-ion battery mod, here is schematic for it:

Once I get my hands to the controller board, I will look where I get my LED output from the board to get my Battery is full LED to work as in original Nomad battery. I think there is diode/mosfet system that controls where current is moved or blocked and then the led should go there and suddenly start to shine when current doesn't flow anymore to the battery.

I'm assuming at least your Nomad's DC jack isn't all wiggly and finicky. Don't let it get like that, it's not fun at all! I've got two Nomads with that same problem, and one stopped running off of batteries! Do keep us posted!

There is no 6800 :P

But there is a 68000, and Hitachi made best 68000 with lowest power consumption, so I naturally want a Hitachi chip in my Nomad.

But yes, it's always nice to bump down the power consumption some more so you can have more battery life. :cool:

Someday, I hope I can fix those Nomads of mine. I'll have three times the blast processing, with three Genesis-based consoles! :pop:

You should look into replacing the original CPU with a Hitachi chip. I did this with mine, and while I haven't personally tested the battery life increases, Tiido claims it makes a small difference.

I tried to do the screen mod for my Nomad, but not only did I fail, it won't turn on completely even for just the TV output. So I think it's shorting somewhere. I gave up trying to mod since I suck at accuracy with those things.

If there's someone willing to repair for the price, please PM me.

How much would you want for that broken piece with the lcd and batterypack? I could maybe buy it from you.

Shit I blowed MY Nomads power input coil. I did forgot the system on while soldering composite input to monitor so I touched another cxa pin and thin klick from coil and burning. I wonder what kind of inductance the coil has to replace it? Can somebody measure it's inductanse?

Maybe no because it has so low resolution that lcd's don't support the input resolution.
