I think you're just pissed you're missing out on the bra cleavage.
Here in the US violence is fine, but any hint of sexuality is a perversion of nature that must be overreacted to with extreme prejudice. :)
Wow, I didn't know she was wearing a bra in the Mega CD version.
Also, sure the dubbing is bad, but it's funny. Just take it in stride. It's not like Final Fight ever took itself seriously or anything.
^
Meh they censored Blaze on SoR and IDC to much about that.
That Blaze crotch/panty shot was such a big loss...
Yep, hence why Night trap (and the horrible misinterpretation of what the game was about) was a bigger deal in the whole video games rating court case than Mortal Kombat...
Of course, that's a generalization... My parents cared much more about profanity and violence being exposed to my brother and I when we were little than sex related stuff...
On the original topic.... yeah typical cheesy dubbing... a general problem with such translations, though you can take it in a good light and simply laugh at it. ;)
That's definitely something that lack of speech avoids... I believe a fair amount of PSX and Saturn games have similar problems. (Including several RPGs), continuing to some current gen stuff, of course.
The English voice acting is mediocre, yes, but the dialog is really bad, too. There's really not much you can do with that kind of weak synopsis... it'd sound bad in any language. Even the Mega CD voice acting sounds like shit.
What I want to know is why the boss doesn't animate while he laughs on the TV in the US version. I blame censorship!!!!!
I think the MCD version sounded better other than Guy who sounded awful.
Well, perhaps it was laundry day in the US version as well. Maybe all she had clean was her slutty red date dress and thugs kidnapped her.
Well now you're just stretching.
I think the acting in the US version says I'm spot on. ;)
