I picked this up at a car boot. Haven't tortured myself with playing it yet, as (like my user title says) I -STILL- need a MD SCART cable.
It's got the cart and box, but no instructions. Any ideas for what to do with it... or ideas for destroying it in creative ways? xD
(Fortunately, it didn't contain his (c)rap single either. I hate rap anyways.
Isn't there an organization dedicated to destroying Shaq Fu carts?
Less off an organization, more like "a couple of guys creating a website dedicated to locating and "liberating" every singly copy of Shaq Fu in existence" (aka the "Shaq Fu Liberation Front").

Oh that game's badness is way overstated, it's nowhere nearly as bad as people on teh internets make it out to be. It's like a 6/10 fighter. Not a great game, but not the worst by any means.
Here we always play Shaq Fu during video game tournaments. And the fun we have is inversely proportional to the game's fame. :)
I think the "worst genesis game" title has more to do with the concept of the game more than a game itself.

No, I played it recently with some friends and it is a bad game. It's only fun to play because it's so bad. I mean, you have almost no control over jumps and special moves are near impossible to pull off. It's incredibly awkward. Sure it's not the worst Gen title, I'll admit the graphics and animation are quite good, but it's up there for fighting games.
I always wanted to see one get destroyed with a spinning Bruce Lee kick as the cart is tossed into the air.
Not the worst fighting game. Heavy Nova and Slaughter Sport are far worse. Perhaps even others, too.
I actually found a copy of Shaq Fu ages ago, sealed, with the rap cd. Is it actually entertaining at all, and worth the bother of opening it?

You buy a flash EPROM chip somewhere, put it in place of the ROM chip, then use an EPROM burner to update the contents of the cart.

Unless you can get a good deal on an EPROM burner (or already have one), yeah, more costly (and less convenient) than a pre-made flash cart. W've got an EPROM burner around though so that would be a possibility for me at least. ;) (need to buy the EPROMs/PROMs though -I doubt we have scrap ones of the right type)Quote:

I bought Shaq Fu for 1,- but it seems the cart is dead somehow, as it doesn't work.
When I try to boot it up, it shows nothing but a blank screen - if I try to boot up another game afterwards, it also shows nothing but a blank screen. I have to reset several times, to get my Mega Drive working again.
Is this the curse of Shaq Fu?

Now I've actually tried Shak Fu, by using a friends Mega Drive, I have actually found it to be bad, but at least controllable.
C does stuff like teleporting/special moves when in tandam with movement on the d-Pad, and A/B are... well, mostly just spammed while an opponent is up against the invisible walls. But I have nearly beaten the game, so either I am a sucker for punishment, or this game isn't -that- bad. :o
