I completely understand why you were suspicious of my disc when it didn't work properly in your Wii, and after doing some research I discovered that there is either a high defect rate in this particular game or an unusual glitch in the Wii hardware that makes it unplayable on some Wii systems. If you'll notice, the date on that post is long before our transaction so there is no way I could've forged or doctored that post in any way and I'm sure further searching would reveal more people having this unusual read problem.

If you still question the authenticity of the disc, feel free to take it to a GameStop or other game retailer and compare it to the merchandise they sell. A bootleg copy would have a blue or purple tint to the bottom as bootlegs are burned on CD burners rather than being pressed by a very expensive professional CD press used for commercial discs. You can also compare the disc to the stock photos on other websites that sell Link's Crossbow Training and see that the products look identical. I completely understand and sympathize with your initial impression that this was a bootlegged game, but I assure you it is not and if you do not repeal your claim with Amazon my account will remain banned and the inability to sell my items could very well put me and my wife out on the street. Please, if you have a heart, ask a game store employee to verify its authenticity or try it in another Wii and repeal your claim. You are the only person that can have my account reinstated.

People's Court is just a televised version of small claims civil court. The main reason I said People's Court is because there was a somewhat similar case on there before, in other words citing that it may be actionable. The difference, however, was that in the People's Court case, the eBay seller auctioned a picture of a cell phone, though most of the listing implied it was an actual phone. Now that I think of it, that was Judge Judy. Either way, it would just be bitchin' to see a Sega-16 member duking it out on TV, I know I'd sure as hell watch it.

I think you could file a grievance in some way or another since this will undoubtedly cause him lost profits. He might be able to claim a breach of contract (he'll have to comb the fine print) by stating he was banned under a false accusation. Only if Amazon has print that states they can ban anyone for any reason at any time would he have little or no recourse.

This is what I remind people whenever they complain that eBay is messing with their eBay stores, etc. eBay is supposed to be a glorified garage sale, not a primary source of income. Sure, you can use it to that end if you want, but don't complain when it's overly restrictive to try to prevent scams, etc.

I don't see why everyone protests PayPal. Forced PayPal is the #1 reason I started using eBay more often. PayPal means I only have to give my credit card number to one place: PayPal. Right now, I think the only two online places that have my credit card number are PayPal and Amazon.com, everything else is paid through PayPal. I haven't used it as a seller, so I can't comment on that, but I think people tend to whine more than they need to. Everyone should have enough funds to sustain themselves without living paycheck to paycheck. If PayPal withholding your money for a couple weeks is going to be a problem, you need to save more. And again, you can blame the scammers for this, eBay is just doing what they need to to minimize claims.

People protest Paypal because they charge multiple transfer fees, have a history of freezing accounts without notice, run excess credit checks on users, withdraw money from the bank accounts needed to link for verified status without notice or reason, outright steal funds from non-profit donations that have used them ($5K from Xorg), have proven to be the source of insecurity on a sandboxed account only they would have access to, etc.

An alternative is Google Checkout, which has even more invasive practices in their EULA.

1. They can check your credit history multiple times. Google Checkout also requires this in the EULA. Why though? Due diligence on credit history should fall to the credit card issuer. All they'll do is ruin credit scores by spamming for 'credit reports' needlessly.

2. To be verified with paypal, you need to allow them access to a bank account. This is nothing special, they will bounce $1 or $2 to verify if it's legit. Reality being that it gives them the authority to draw on that account whenever they feel like it. They do it too. Verified is required for some ebay sellers & stores. It lets them know your address is legit, and triggers paypal to draw first from a financial institution instead of a line of credit.

3. It was news a few months ago, http://www.mail-archive.com/xorg@lis.../msg10653.html Paypal embezzled their money.

4. People intentionally mistrust paypal, and use them through proxy accounts that no other service has access to, people have found that these bank accounts fall victim to theft more often than not. Reason? Who knows, maybe Paypal isn't secure on their own end. I wouldn't be surprised at all.

As for this credit check, does this entail more than I think it does? I'm not an accountant nor do I own a business nor have I applied for a large loan before, so I've never had one done. Why does this drag down your credit score? If it lowers it on the basis that frequent checks make you look "suspicious", wouldn't they exclude PayPal with the understanding that they do frequent checks? Something tells me there is something to justify these checks as well, going around checking everyone multiple times doesn't sound cost effective.

Honestly I like paypal though I understand that issue I have the opposite complaint of Paypal not being offered at all in some cases. (like Amazon) If nothing else it means not having to hand out credit/bank info to another site/institution. (if you already have paypal) Plus there's additional buyer protection.

When did that occur though -I seem to recall ebay used to allow a variety of payment methods...

Well, my credit card allows me to generate a "fake" number on a per-transaction basis for online payments, but doing this for every minor game purchase would be very unwieldy and I would be much more likely to miss someone taking more money than they were supposed to.

just being a little sarcastic with the whole boycotting thing i actually plan on buying castlevania bloodlines off of there this weekend when i get the cash, the disc itself was just placed inside an envelope with masking tape wrapped around it, the seller had nothing but positive feedback but completely denied packing the game in such a manner. no big deal though it was just a .01 + shipping(madden 98) so dont worry about it, i didnt. it was just a little frustrating that someone would be so stupid, i wouldve gladly paid extra for a cheap cd case.

Well listing on ebay is slow. Its better than it was. I don't have to use pay-pal. It is actually an option. However after dealing with a freaking COD today I think I will be using Paypal.It is really is depressing looking at the lack of interest in Ebay. Since being "fired" form Ebay I'm only up $150. I put a craigslist ad up for Chrono Trigger and have been getting all sorts of hard core collectors calling me. I talked one guy for about and hour. Hehad like 8 copies of Conker's in the box. Who the hell needs 8 boxed copies!? If I was silly rich I would have 1 boxed one for collecting and one for playing but 8!!. Oh Well. If he wants to buy my stuff he can have it. He may buy the two other boxed Chrono Triggers I have.

I ran into another kid who came over and bought $70 worth of games about half of them being sports games thank god. He also had a ridiculous collection. I thought I was bad having a stack of 5 NES and numerous other "stacks" of consoles.This kid told me he had 7 3DO's. Once again ,WHO THE HELL NEEDS 7 3DOs!!!! He also didn't own a car. Hmmmm... priorities.

It looks like the dreaded antique fairs I have to go with my wife will be become even more important. I even will be having a yard sale out desperation this Saturday.

It also feels weird not combing thrift stores for hours everyday. It really feels like being fired. I finally went out today and saw things that I could sell on Amazon like clock work but on ebay would probable not sell. That's depressing.

Paypal like any business doesn't have access to your credit score, they inquire about it through a credit bureau/agency. They can do it as often as they want, authorization isn't a one time deal with them, mistakes can happen, but they aren't liable for it since their policy is a mess. It CAN happen to you, and knowing 'paypal will be there to blame' won't fix shit when your credit is fucked and you can't get a loan because behind the scenes you look risky.

Seriously, looking at all of this. You literally don't understand what you're talking about, and continually write it off in a condescending manner as you pump it topically. I have a credit card I use *ONLY* online. I have less than 5 places (during a given year) I use it at. My statements are short, and I can track any transactions. Should this CC info fall into the hands of SPECTRE, I can cancel it if I need to.

I think you guys are loosing the importance of the original intention of the thread.

Is there any reason why you can't just create a new account?

My wife keeps on telling me to do that to use her name and account. I also have another debit card but I think they would figure it out with the addresses being the same. Maybe I could use my brothers and just have him transfer money into my account from time to time. Still it seems like a pain in the ass.

It really is frustrating with values and Ebay being so low and Amazon still being high. There is money to be made I am missing out on. At least I could get rid of my stock of mostly Nintendo crap. Its also great for little odds and ends like Toslink cables, ac adapters, and controllers that don't sell easily or for that much on Ebay. I can't believe the amount of things I could sell on Amazon. There were so many items I could just pick out of thrift stores.

Maybe I should start a new Amazon account and call it something along the lines of the "The Charity for Starving, Maimed, Abused, Abandoned, Blind, Deaf, Children who will die if you cancel this account"

On a plus note one of my ebay auctions is up to $81 with 5 days to go.

God damn it I need to get a real job. I think I need get a government job that practically impossible to get fired from.


Believe it or not I am enjoying watching KD and 17 duke it out. I lost track of what they are fighting over anymore. Posts don't feel right here if those two aren't gong at it at some point. They make a reality show with them living together in an apartment or something. It just sorta like adding a bases and and acids.

It has simply become corporate policy to take the buyer's word. Amazon, Paypal, etc. That old "the customer is always right" saying won't ever die even though it's rarely true. And it's not just customers, it's CONSUMERS. It's why a fanbase always feels entitled, as if they are owed what they want and a company/artist/writer is rarely thanked for what they make. You are NOT entitled, you sorry prick. If you want something different, go get something different. Don't beg and insult us in some idiotic hope we will make what you want, especially if you are being a total jerkass about it.

I say test to see if they will really close all your future accounts. I seriously can't believe that they will toss you for *one* incident when I still see sellers on Amazon with 89% ratings.

I say open a new account, and if it sticks, start out by selling stuff that nobody idiot cry babies could confuse with "bootleg" items.

Amazon can't afford to have a bad customer experience with their 3rd party marketplace. Much like ebay/paypal they'll usually take the buyer's side of any argument, shooting first and asking questions later.

The thing here though, is that they're shutting down appeals.
I say just cut your losses and move on. Amazon doesn't deserve your business.

Yeah I really don't feel like making them anymore money. I sold about 20g worth since October, all of which they taxed.

it's not the negative that had his account closed, it's the accusation of selling bootlegs. Not only is selling bootlegs bad business on the customer end, Nintendo would jump right up their ass if they allowed pirate copies to be sold. eBay won't even let you sell Swap Magic or Pandora batteries.

I really don't think she was out to ruin you, it doesn't make sense. She's just another one of those (and believe me, there are PLENTY) people that make purchases with the expectation that they are more likely to get scammed than not, so when anything doesn't go according to plan, they cry "e-rape!". Trust me on this, remember that situation with my boss at Play N Trade with the Myspace message? I left there and basically said "Play N Trade sucks, don't shop there" and he threatened to sue me. Now, there's no way it would've gone anywhere, but if people have a vendetta, they'll find a way to get you one way or another. So what did I do? Claimed someone hijacked my Myspace and that I was sorry about the whole thing. He bought it hook, line, and sinker. I'll bet this bitch will do the same.

Even if that were true, I'd just tell him to STFU. After having had time to think about how stupid it was, there's no f'n way he would have any legal leeway over me. The most he could do is have a hearing, at which point the judge would LOL at him.

Mind you, I never said a specific play n trade nor did I mention his name, so the only one that would have shit to say about it would be Play N Trade corporate, and if THEY would sue, then I guess GameStop is going to sue everyone that has ever said anything bad about GameStop...PFFFFT, good luck with that.
