Didn't want to read through the thread, so I'll ask.
Can't you offer returns of some sort?
So you're pretty much saying, you got what you deserved. Curious, what did you charge them for that untested POS? I'd be pretty pissed too if someone didn't immediately offer a return/refund.Quote:
It seems that the typical Ebay buyer is smarter and therefore less willing to pay the ridiculous prices I could fetch on Amazon.
You didn't 'want' to read through the discussion, so you opt to 'ask questions that were likely answered already'?
How do you know that he didn't attempt to give her restitution? You admit to not reading the thread, and here you go with judgement based on blind assumptions.Quote:

No, he was selling it for the going rate... which just happens to be higher on amazon (it varies for a lot of things, they're slightly separated markets -though BIN prices similarly vary from auction prices)
Plus, he clearly stated that he offered her a refund immediately, but the claim of "bootleg" still got him in trouble.
Finally, it was sealed and he wouldn't have been able to sell it as new/sealed had he opened it to test it.
Whoa Diosoth's back! I thought he was long gone... Oh and I don't think the Maple Story fan fics were the point of that link... I think it was more aimed at the Sonic fanfics... (especially the adult ones, some including the author)
Here I'll type it out in outline form in big easy to read letters so you won't have to strain your eyes or brain to much.
1) It was new.
a) That means sealed
b) If I opened it to test it can't be called new.
2) I refunded her money
a) It was immediate
b) She didn't deserve it but I did it anyways
3) To get what one deserves
a) To bring about ones own misfortune.
b) you may want to pay attention to that concept yourself as this is the reason you look like a total ass right now.
Man that sucks having your Amazon account destroyed.
You should make a new account with your wife's info and make a thread like JRedmond's cheat the ebay/paypal thing. I'm sure plenty of people here would be glad to help.
That's right.
I'm saying he got what he deserved because he pretty much admits to ripping people on prices, because he knows people on eBay "are smarter than that", I found it difficult to sympathize after that statement... It's dishonest. Should have made that more clear. Did I assume he didn't try and resolve her problem? No. What I said was that I would be pissed, if a seller didn't.Quote:

Sick burn, man.
If he doesn't want to respond to the post, he doesn't have to. It's not a big deal. But it figures, if anyone, you would get worked up over it and post me a picture. I admit to making a snarky comment, but don't even derail the topic or intersect another discussion with personal attacks as you do in almost every thread. It's apparent that you take pleasure in doing just that, and say isn't that the definition of a troll? It's certainly something you're more known for than I. You ought to not take everything you read on these boards to heart. :boxer:
Ok. That was short and sweet, or bitter, but to the point. Thanks.
But why do you say she didn't deserve it? Did she report you as fraudulent before you offered the refund? More short and sweet or bitter information, with less insult or sarcasm ought to do it.
And by now I'd assume you've read where I more or less said that karma bit you in the ass... in my statement of "you got what you deserved". But in case you didn't - You admit to conning ignorant people into paying more for something, you admit to knowing is worth less. I find that to be pretty dishonest, and hardly anything to boast about. Sorry if you can't understand that sentiment.
WOW, you can dish it out but but can't take it. :)
I understand what you think I am, just bragging about how awesome I am. "Well I just buy all these games from some dumb asses on eBay and flip them to even more dumb asses on Amazon" You think I'm just some piece of shit ripping people off.
Yes it does amaze me when I turn a profit. There are better deals to be had elsewhere. I won't deny it. If people put more effort into they would find them. According to you that makes me a bad person.
Can you think of one store that sells items for they payed for it? Its how these things work. Have you ever walked into an Autozone and seen a sign proclaiming?
OIL CHEAPER AT WALMART
Yes I did talk or as you see brag about "conning" people in your eyes. I believe this was the line that disturbed you"It seems that the typical Ebay buyer is smarter and therefore less willing to pay the ridiculous prices I could fetch on Amazon." Well I consider this forum to be made up of my friends. I discuss these things like I would with any other friend. If you have a problem with what I do maybe you should take it up with every other seller on Amazon,Ebay and business on the planet for that matter.
I do everything I can to make money. I spend most of day combing thrift stores, swap meets, and garage sales finding games, books, movies, electronics, and whatever I can sell. I also buy on eBay. I low ball bid on hundreds and sometimes thousands of items. If I'm real lucky I win some of them. I test them and clean them. I make my own mailers, usually from Paper bags I pull out of recycle bins. I recycle bubble wrap as well. I use as little ink as possible. I cut down the freaking paper receipts as small as possible to save weight. I haul ass to the post office when it opens get everything out as earlier as possible. The whole thing is about making money.
So I will sure as shit sell something for $15 that I payed $3 for. Ever heard of buy low sell high?
If that makes me immoral, dishonest, con artist in your eyes then so be it. Your the one kicking a man when he's down.
Well, He's obviously a giant communist poop-monster.
It's morphin' time, people.
Futhermore, it probably wasn't even defective. There's a well known issue that this particular game doesn't run on some Wiis for no explainable reason. The disc might boot perfectly in another Wii.
I think you're misunderstanding how this works. This is what he does:
step 1: buy lots on eBay (which most people don't want if it's not all items they wish to own) or comb thrift stores (which IS work since it takes time, just like anything else)
step 2: save people their own time by offering the exact item they want on Amazon rather than having to fight for it on eBay or wait till an auction shows up.
Essentially what he's doing is getting paid for doing the digging. If I want an AC adapter for an NES, I could wait till an auction shows up on eBay, buy it in a lot and then have stuff I don't want, or hop on Amazon and buy it with one click and be done.
Also, generally speaking, Iron Lizard offers pretty good prices. He sold me a Sega CD RAM cart for $5 and those things get at least $20 on many auction sites.
Lastly, things are worth what people pay for them. You aren't ripping someone off by charging more for the sake of convenience. I can buy a USB cable for like $1 from DealExtreme.com, but then I'd probably have to wait about a month for it to come in. On the other hand, I could go to Best Buy and buy the same cable for $10 and get it today. If you don't need it immediately and want to save money, get it from DealExtreme, but if you need it today, Best Buy is where you go. That's where Iron Lizard comes in. If they want it today with no hassle and riff raff, they go to Amazon and "buy with one click". Even comparing Best Buy to Wal Mart yields differences. Wal Mart might have a cheaper USB cable, but you'll wait half an hour in lines because they're always under staffed. It's all about the cost of convenience, I see nothing wrong with what Iron Lizard does, especially considering he still prices his stuff under the "market value" in many cases.
TYRANNOSAURUS!
Having spent a year and a half doing what Iron Lizard does, I have his back 100%.
Plus, I consider him a buddy of mine, so I'd be on his side regardless.
On a side note, it feels odd to be on the same side as 17days (not just in this case either).
Well, if no one wants to pay Iron Lizard's prices they're free to pick another seller. Amazon and ebay make it easy to do this. He certainly isn't running a monopoly.
Sounds like the buyer was just trying to scam you and the whole thing went overboard with Amazon banning you. If I remember correctly, someone on Racketboy had a very similar experience on eBay. The buyers claim the merchandise is broken, incorrectly listed or defective when clearly it was not when sold to them in an attempt to get it for free. They usually go through great lengths to obtain a refund and keep the merchandise... She may eventually accept a "return" for cash and then send you a completely different item back or a defective/broken item.
I'd like to dedicate this song to Iron Lizard...
Weird Al was spot on with that song.
I always cracked up at the "A++" line, because I did that too.
It's a shame that the Farrah Fawcett poster in the video isn't the Farrah Fawcett poster.
I remember working with a co-worker, at a former job, who also liked Weird Al and the original version of that song came on the in-store radio.
We both, simultaneously , sang "I'm highest bidder!" during the appropriate point in the song.
Thanks :) LOL. I hope people like that exist on EBAY. I'm doing ok this week so far.
I'm starting to feel slightly optimistic again though last month was the month from hell so still a bit scared. My buddy volunteered to let me use one of his accounts also so I can start up Amazon again though I think I will do that on a much smaller scale. I think I feel like this.
Maybe this if I really want to indulge myself in my misfortunes.
But you really don't want to send it?
You've got nothing to lose right (Except maybe your composure..)?
Wait. What?
I'm not sure about the word "composure".
Anyways. ^^"
OOOH OOOH OOOH! I thought of a new derogatory nickname for Amazon!
-Scamazon-
BOOM!
Now when people are throwin down eVilbay/fleabay, you can tack on scAmazon!
Well 17days, I sent her your email.
Please, post the reaction!
I approve of bannings in any form, mainly on Sega-16 and posters I don't like, but it's been a while since there has been a good banning on this site, so my desire for bannings has been satiated in spite of it occuring on a different site to a poster I like. :ok:
WOW, that's all I can say. I almost didn't want to post this. You should be proud of yourself 17days....
Hi,
No I wasn't aware you were banned from Amazon and I am truly SORRY!!!
Don't worry, I will just say the disc worked in my nephew's Wii and I filed the claim too soon before thinking to try it in his.
I wouldn't want to see you and your wife out on the street.
Being a Christian, God wouldn't look to kindly at me for this!!
I will do everything in my power to help you!!!
^Wow.
And to think, you almost sent her that other message. You should be ashamed of yourself for even considering it!

Nice, very nice. Thumbs up dude. :)
See, I told you she wasn't out to get you!
People that don't understand how all of this works keep hearing about scams and immediately think that's the case whenever something goes awry. I hope Amazon is willing to listen and reinstate your account.
But I'm wondering about something, if the buyer did not accepted to help, why didn't you did you an eBay account instead?
Yeah, sometimes it's a bit hard to realize that if you're a particularly logical/rational type of person, it helps to be more personal in stuff like this. ;) (and even if you have decent interpersonal skills, you still may end up using the logical side if you're in that *mode* ;) unless you catch yourself)
Sometimes there are stupid people (and/or jerks), and other's its just average people who may simply not respond well to direct rational argument)
Oh, and Iron_Lizard, now that she indeed knows it works, is she going to re-pay the $15?
Because Amazon was proving more lucrative, though an ebay store might have been reasonably close. (BIN ebay is more or less the same as amazon other than the paypal issue -though Amazon doesn't offer paypal at all either -a bit of a pain if you have paypal gift money or just funds in your account you want to use)
She can keep for for all I care. I have a feeling they won' t give me back my account anyways. I would like to sell on both if I could. Ebay is great for things like car parts and antiques and Amazon kicks ass for selling games, an odds and ends like toslink cables, etc.
