Yes, me too I would be interested if there was an advantage for me.
I missed the Sega consoles, all of them. I didn't knew about the Sega consoles in 1998. So I missed all of them...
Now, this would be cool to have one "Sega" consoles (Well, it's licensed like the GM...) but it just doens't worth the money at all.
^ Well, they obviously sold something. I don't know whether it's actually appropriate to say that it's "the license" for all things Genesis. I'd assume that it's some distribution rights for Mega Drive / Genesis compatible hardware.
Yeah, it's actually not that unusual for them. Back in the days SEGA had Virgin distributing the Master System in the UK, and Ariola (now BMG) distributing it in Germany. Then there's Tec-Toy in Brazil, Samsung in Korea, Majesco in the US,...
EDIT http://www.atgames.net/Eng.pdf
SEGA has also granted AtGames the exclusive right to sell SEGA software products for SEGA’s proprietary platforms (e.g., SEGA Master System, SEGA Game Gear, SEGA Genesis (MegaDrive) System, SEGA Saturn System, SEGA 32X, SEGA CD and SEGA Dreamcast System) bundled together with an emulator for these SEGA proprietary platforms to original equipment manufacturers, chip makers and other product manufacturers in Greater China. In turn, these original equipment manufacturers, chip makers and other product manufacturers will incorporate these bundles into products for sale throughout the world.
Actually, having the Master System made and distributed by Tonka helped Sega get their tiny foothold in the US market. Tonka being a big and successful toy company was able to produce more and actually get the system on the shelves, while Sega had some trouble doing it. After a few years, Sega ended the deal, and was able to handle the SMS and Genesis production by themselves though.
If they made a deal with me to link our Mega Drive Championships with the product and paid me £55million to do so then it would be the most awesome product ever.
Well, they aren't paying us to lie, so the product really isn't that great.
:D
Hey AtGames, stop dicking around with wii clone's and crappy handhelds and give us a redesigned 32X already.
preferably something small, like a gamegenie.
what? no i don't want an emulator in it to play your homebrew games.
How about a nice, compact, CDX-like combo system that plays all Genesis/Mega Drive/32X/Sega CD games on variations of the original hardware and has component/HDMI out so we don't have to keep screwing around with SCART converters?
It would be nice if they made an ACTUAL Sega Neptune...
Yes, I'm still VERY bitter about that damned April Fool's Joke EGM had!
The zone sega suppose to come out in the summer what happen I check news for it and can't find any thing
