Tecmo's Ninja Gaiden series for NES is great. Sega made a fantastic Master System conversion that you might wanna check out:
And Alex Kidd in Shinobi World:
Of course, the Game Gear Shinobi's are superb as well. Some consider them as good as the Super Shinobis for Mega Drive.
And then there's Shin Shinobi Den for Saturn which is excellent as well, although not as good as the Super Shinobis.
Hmmm... Ninja Gaiden and GG Shinobi look fun. Gonna buy 'em some day.
It's too bad Game Gear Shinobi is on the Game Gear which is a horrid beast to play. I would rather shoot myself in the face and get AIDS all in the same day. The Game Gear had ABSOLUTELY NO RIGHT to exist. Fuckin' thing. These should have been true SMS games. I just got off the phone with Yuzo and even he says he'd prefer real SMS over a shitastic thing like the friggin' Game Gear.

I agree the Game Gear sucks. I can understand that COLOR was a hot commodity in the early nineties but really 6 AA batteries for 30 minutes of gameplay I mean, what? Hey does anyone think that Sega was in cahoots with Duracell or perhaps Energizer at the time? I think this is one conspiracy that would be worth the Edge's while to investigate...
Oh yeah, Shadow Dancer is the greatest and I play it every day! Except for the days when I don't play it.
