Shadow Dancer is awesome. Since the Genesis didn't get a true Shinobi arcade port, this is not only the next best thing, it is its own thing.

the soundtrack,gameplay,and the barking dog always makes me love this more then shinobi 3
Shadow Dancer taught me that if you shoot a fully grown dog it will turn back into a puppy.
Also, I hope that when I wake up on Christmas morning, Santa Claus has killed this thread.
I like Shadow Dancer but it will always be Revenge of Shinobi > Shinobi III > Shadow Dancer for me.

Honestly, I'd be interested in what makes Revenge of Shinobi a classic
- Is it the slow shuffling movement?
- The limited moveset?
- The awkward controls?
- The bad graphics?
- The boring level themes?
- The way that you fly miles through the air everytime you take a hit and usually end up falling down a hole?

To be fair though RoS really was good for the time but as far as I'm concerned ESWAT from roughly the same time period was better, I love that game, and it gets a fraction of the huge praise leveled at RoS.
Thats why shadow dancer is always going to be the best the soundtrack and the gameplay made this game GOLD
Okay, that's about enough garbage about Revenge of Shinobi. That game is a side scrolling epic, easily on par with Castlevania IV. Joe fights Ninja, Electra, Rambo, The Terminator, Spiderman, Batman, and Godzilla. His methods for platforming, shuriken throwing, even jumping are unique and very specifically designed compared to other Shinobi games.
Shadow Dancer is too different to compare and still excellent. So is E-Swat, but I would put them as third gen 4mb Genesis games that really did not have the style of the first and second gen.
No doubt. Revenge of Shinobi is a great game. You can't truly call yourself a 16bit Sega fan, if you don't like Revenge of Shinobi. Pfft :p
Shadow Dancer is teh best game ever. Everybody knows this and you don't need remind them, so having this thread is heresy. (RoS is awesome)
All 16-bit Shinobi games are awesome, each in its own way. Period.
