Defeating the bosses without taking a single hit is extremely satisfying once achieved. Especially that last boss, one of the most satisfying gaming experiences I have ever had was crushing him and his minions under my heel.

Ah the greatest ninja game i will love so much shadow dancer the game that made me throw my deadly ninja stars and slash enemies with my deadly sword while i sic my dog on em as they die slowly.
I always wondered why SEGA did that with their own games. ESWAT was another MD game that was nothing like the arcade version. The SMS version was based on the arcade.
One thing I noticed when I played the game in 2007 for the first time in many years, is that the game is basically a remake of the original Shinobi. The stage layout, the bosses, all copied from Shinobi. At leader the first 2 stages were the same. Anyone else ever notice that?
I will always play shadow dancer for a long time I so enjoy the feeling of this game which makes me a lot happy
Shadow dancer is the best satisfying game that always makes me play it over and over it never gets old.
the one shinobi game that doesn't get enough love in retrospectives, likely because everyone remembers revenge/III more than the arcade one this follows. i remember thinking how natural the dog was as an eveolution of that.
still one of my favorites, but goddamn that last boss can be tricky towards the end!
Good, nay great game from Pre-Sonic SEGA that copped a bit of shit BITD since it came on the heals of Super Shinobi, I think people were expecting more of the same but got this instead.
It's short in terms of playtime owing to it's arcade-style pacing, and the one-hit kills are an asset, not an issue like many have said before IMO.
And let's face it, the apocalyptic theme and Ninja attack dog angle are about as f***ing metal as you can get.
I'm so shit at this game, can't even get past Level 1.
Yet for some reason I really like it.
This is a good game. Never managed to beat the final boss though.
Only rented it and was thrown for a loop due to the one-hit kills since my prior Shinobi experience was Revenge.
My only real complaint about it was that it wasn't a port of the arcade Shadow Dancer. It had the dog and, well, that was it.
Game was so epic when i was young, there was nothing like it at the time, anyone else notice it says TO BE CONITNUED at the end? or is that bad memory?
Shadow Dancer can be beaten , i beat it at age 11 or 10 and i suck at 2D action games
Anything can be beaten if you're willing to give it the time.
