I haven't played it properly for a while, when i'm in the mood for a one-hit-death platformer i'll give this some serious playtime, i could get quite far if i really tried.

Love the hell out of this game, even if it is really hard compared to the others, one hit kills, that would so not fly today. I remember importing this because Die Hard had it on sale. Great, great game.
I love the hell outta shadow dancer too it never gets boring at all the enemies and bosses are so fun to go up against :)
Shadow dancer isn't easy as you think it is try to beat it on level 3 and see how far you get ^_^ I already mastered it so no problem for me
I wish there was a hack too add more levels I would love that
I would have loved to see more games utilize the lock on technology. When that idea was introduced in '94, I thought SEGA might pursue that route with future titles. Too bad they didn't.
maybe one day we might see a homebrew project try that with a future title. Now that would be neat!
I might actually play Shadow Dancer mods. I'd like to see a SoR Remix style mod that has all of the levels from Shinobi, Arcade and Console Shadow Dancer, and some homebrew attempts at the same kind of stuff. Actually, Shadow Dancer in all Rolling Thunder, Eswat, and Bad Dudes levels would be flat out awesome.
I saw a video of a hacked shadow dancer but there was nothing different but the lives and enemies
Shadow .. Dancer.. thread.. must.. live..
I have no idea why people call this a bad boss fight, bad ass maybe and certainly one of the most challenging boss fights I have ever mastered.

Probably because it's sort of plain, and you don't even fight Union Lizard/Sauros/whatever, just dodge some of his goons while his head inexplicably flies off at certain intervals.
I really like all the boss fights in Shadow Dancer. Even the one that literally make no sense at all.
Like the big flaming wheel thing - what the hell is that thing?
I fucking love shadow dancer.
