but the dog is still great to use in the game.
I love this game too. I like it much better than the arcade version.
I guess I'm in the minority, for me Shinobi 3 was my least favorite game in the series.
I much prefer Revenge of Shinobi and Shadowdancer, by a large margin.
You´re not all alone. I prefer Revenge of Shinobi, so Shinobi III is not everybody´s favourite.Quote:

Shadow Dancer is poor man's Revenge of Shinobi and is a molehill compared to the mountain of Shinobi III.

Compared to Revenge of Shinobi and Shinobi 3, it doesn't stand a chance.
Although, the fact you could use a dog was awesome and the arcade version is far superior to the Genesis game.

Revenge of Shinobi can not miss with shadow dancer Revenge of Shinobi gameplay is too slow.

Shadow Dancer is one of the few instances I like the console version, much much more than the arcade.
Shadow Dancer is way different from Revenge of Shinobi and Shinobi 3 thats why i love shadow dancer better.

I play Shadow Dancer more than both Revenge of Shinobi and Shinobi 3 combined. Why? Because it's more "arcadey". Much more action-packed. The "Super Shinobi" games are much slower and as a result you can't be in an action-packed mood when you play them. Shadow Dancer is much more of a "pick up and play immediately" type of game whereas the others you need to be in the mood for.

So, after playing all three Mega Drive-Shinobis in the last few weeks I must say they are all some of the greatest 16-Bit-games. I like Revenge of Shinobi best, Shadow Dancer is no.2 for me followed closely by Shinobi III. Every one of the games has it´s advantages.
ROS has the coolest and most "realistic" Ninja-atmosphere, great level-design and a nice graphic-style and sound. Especially ROS´ Joe Musashi-sprite looks better than in both sequels.
Shadow Dancer has a cool apocalyptic atmosphere and is faster and more comic-like, the dog-feature is cool too (although his barking goes on my nerves), but the one hit=one life-thing annoys me a bit.
Shinobi III has the best moves,and a quick gameplay but it kind of lacks in the atmosphere, the style and the sound-department compared to the other two.
