I know this is old as heck, but man, those sound clips are about as subtle as a boot to the head.Quote:

Real men (and real Women, too) play this game without shurikens. It's much more fun than trying to get bonuses in the older Shinobi games, i.e. hoping and praying that you press the button at the exact right moment (not too fast, not too late).
It's a great game, and definitely still one of my favorites on the library. I've played it far more often than the other two Shinobi games, which says something all by itself!

Im getting this for my arcade machine in the next few days!
You have an arcade-machine at home? Sounds cool. I never knew the games were changeable expect on SNK-arcade-machines.Quote:

That is all.
I've been playing through the Genny Shinobi games again, and I just can't get over how Shinobi III totally dwarfs the other two in terms of quality.
I think SIII might just be the best 2D ninja game ever - the controls are flawless.
Hahahaha!Quote:

Utter tosh!Quote:

ROS was state of the art by the time of it´s release, while Shinobi III was nothing special in 1993 anymore. It has the possibility to run, but that´s it´s only advantage to ROS.
Lacks style? You can't seriously say that being able to run, jump, dropkick, dropkick again, run and slash, block, and shuriken spread in one gorgeous combination isn't stylish.
As for advantages over ROS, I would consider tighter double-jump code, at-will blocking, run slashing, and wall jumping to be improvements.
I would say that Shinobi III's graphics are good for 93 as well. Lots of parallax and detail, fluid animation... Not special effects out the wazoo like Gunstar Heroes, but not sloppy by any means.
Shinobi III also sports an extremely refined set of running code - there's a sense of gravity and weight to the way Musashi runs, and his forward velocity matches his animation perfectly. There's no floating like in the other games.
Exactly, playing Revenge of Shinobi after Shinobi III is like playing with oven gloves on. Although I like the gritty nature of the Revenge of Shinobi it isn't half as responsive as Shinobi III, which is so free flowing it, is awesome.
Shadow Dancer is also sluggish and it is more a memory game with the only way to succeed in some levels is to remember the patterns. Shinobi III you can rely on instinct and your reactions.
Sorry, in this case I have to disagree with you both.
We won't hate you for it. =D
Thanks for expressing in words the nagging problem I've had with Shadow Dancer. So *that's* what's been bugging me all these years...Quote:

I think S3's main advantage over RoS is that it conveys the feeling of controlling a ninja instead of some average guy that just happens to throw shurikens instead of using a gun, and who has recently started practicing some basic acrobatics.
Apart from that, I prefer most of RoS levels over S3's as they seem to have a darker theme and introduce more stuff that hadn't been seen before (I hated the labyrinth level though).
Also, the soundtrack in RoS is way better than the others. The sound quality may be a bit crummy but the tunes are very memorable.
The gameplay for shadow dancer always been the best!
Enough already.
no i love this game.
No it isn't. The gameplay is wank. Get over it and let this topic die.Quote:

I think daminmancejin2 is a troll, or someone with the Asperger syndrome, which my brother has. Or both.
Why would i do something like that when i play this game alot? this game is awsome.
I would think damin was troll, but I remember him from Gamefaqs, so I know he's cool.
