Probably the Majesco version, I think the original says Konami or something.
Also, the Majesco version came in the cardboard whereas the first run was in a normal clamshell.
Clarification needed:
Does your cartridge say Made in Mexico or does it say Assembled in Mexico?
Hopefully the latter isn't the case. If so, demand a refund immediately.
Mine says "Konami" "Made in Japan"
The Majesco version (Assembled in Mexico) is from 1998. It will have an non-glossed label. It should have a plastic casing manufactured by Acclaim and held together by two security Torx screws. Majesco's name is printed on the ROM chip along with the manufacturing date.
The Konami version (Made in Japan) is from 1994. It will have a glossed label. It should have a plastic casing manufactured by Konami and held together by two Gamebit screws. Konami's name is printed on the ROM chip, but no manufacturing date should be present.
Mine also says Konami made in Japan I would try and get my hands on a Konami copy instead of a Majesco copy :P
Bleh, they both play the same. I have a Majesco cart in a Konami case (I lost the original cart.) Enjoy an awesome game!
I'm trying to understand why someone would suggest the '94 version over the '98 version...? Is this simply from a Collectors standpoint to have the original release or is there an actual difference in the Game:confused:
One thing that comes to mind is that maybe the '98 release shouldn't fetch the same price as the '94 version simply because it's not an original release and therefore isn't as old (by only 4 years though, ha).
I paid close to $15 for this '98 copy and I'm wondering if out of principle I shouldn't have paid more than say $8.
thoughts, guys?
btw: the game is amaaaaaazing!!! I played it for about 30 mins last night and had a blast. I don't understand why I have to be jumping in order to be able to attack diagonaly though. Also, I'm disappointed that there is only one degree of jump height and that the jump isn't dependent on how long the player holds the button down.... that really sets apart most platformers imo.
Well... to a degree you are right. But... if I should have only paid half of what I paid, then no... I'm not happy.
If the seller sold me something at the wrong price, then I'm not happy.
It's the same thing as a seller selling a game at Mint price when the product isn't in Mint condition.
mine says "MADE IN TRANSYLVANIA" on the back hahahaha yeah i know funny right?
I have the original Konami Japanese cart. Where's my parade?
