This wireless controller usually comes with the system, but mine didn't. I figure if I can't find one on here, I never will. :(
PM me with your price if you have one!

bump!
Its gonna be hard to find a spare one to tell you the truth. You should try yahoo auctions japan and try to see if you can get a service to help you get it.
Yeah, I know.
Last time I used a service to buy something off of yahoo japan, I ended up paying double what it's worth, so I'd like to avoid that.
I'm just hoping there's a collector on here who has a spare one.
Yeah sometimes that does happen with those services, but I do wish you luck on trying to find one, I do suggest that if the official Genesis Remote Arcade Pads work on it then go that route since they are easy to find on ebay and cheap.
:(
Bump, holding out that someone has this!
try posting a wanted ad on neo-geo.com, theres a few collectors there that usually have some very hard to find sega stuff for sale. or another option is, try emailing the guys at www.genkivideogames.com and see if they can track one down for you, or try www.japangamestock.com they have a service where they will look for a requested item.
bump
Hmm... going to stop bumping soon. Giving up hope. :Panda:
Bump!
I would try lurking around Yahoo Japan at this point. You never know what you'll find...
Wow, only 2 Wondermega auctions even inside Japan. And none for a loose wireless controller.
This stuff is teh rarez! :(
LOL I knew that the Wondermega M2 had wireless controllers but I never thought about that you can't use any wired controllers on it? I wondered if the iR receiver popped out and a piece with the ports went in or if you could use Sega Genesis wireless controllers. Like the frequencies would happen to match. Well it would be awesome if they did!
Yeah, I've been using wired controllers on it, I have a pair of Victor branded Wondermega controllers for it, which were actually released for the M1 system I believe.
The M2 model was supposed to come with a special wireless controller. It's really cool too because it had a lot of remote functionality, including turning the system on and off.
I doubt it would be possible to use regular wireless controllers, because the controller ports are on the back of the M2 (which is crazy imo), and those old controllers are infrared and need direct line of sight to communicate with the receiver.
The Victor controllers came out for the Wondermega 2 as well, you can see they are actually 2 different model numbers on the back. The wireless controller for the Wondermega 2 is Infra Red as well, the receiver is built into the unit. Also the only place I ever saw the controller on it's own was on yahoo japan and it went for about $40-50 for one controller, if I remember correctly.
You can use any Genesis wireless controller but you would need extension cables to be able to plug in the receiver which is good since you need line of sight. The range on the Akklaim and official Sega ones are very close, the Sega ones are a bit better though. Neither has to be pointed directly at the receiver, you can have it pointed a ways to the right, left, up or down, but it does need an unobstructed sight of the receiver.
Yeah, you're right, I noticed that. I was going to replace the guts with original Genesis 3 button controllers (the victor controllers have waaaay too short cords, which is made even worse by the ports being on the backside of the M2), but the first one I opened didn't match the guts I had from the regular genny controller. The second one I opened did match however.
After all that though, I decided to leave the controllers alone, since they're not very common and I don't want to screw up and potential resale value later on (not that I will ever sell the Wondermega, God forbid!)
That's why I just decided to look for an original wireless one.
Also, $40-$50 isn't bad if I can find one, I was prepared to pay quite a bit more than that, honestly!
Thanks for your input, Jose!
that $40-50 was before shipping or fees incurred by using a bidding service. good luck with the search.
