What about Raiden IV and Raiden Fighters Aces? Those arcade-style, 2D titles on hard copy are the top reason why I want to get a 360. Those and the many awesome exclusive RPGs I keep hearing about. :D
As usual someone feels the urge to butt in with their redundant elitism.
Anyway, if I were to start with 7th gen anew I'd definitely go with a PS3. The 360 usually has the better ports of multiplat games but it's not a rule of thumb. Sony's own published games are of arguably higher quality than 360 exclusives, but there's not much to differentiate between the two. Oh and getting both platforms is a redundancy, unless of course you must have all the exclusives on both systems. While FFXIII turned out trite, dampening my initial excitement after the 'multiplatting' announcement, I'm glad LA Noir and MSG:Rising are both going to be multiplatform.
Is there a need to mention multiplat games that are pretty solid on either platform?
Oops. Sorry about that Octopod. Didn't mean to diss the 2-post man. :o I actually hadn't read your post before mine. I don't know why I linger on a reply for minutes at a time. This is what happens when I do.:daze:
Trust me dude. You're barking-up the wrong tree. ;) That's not my style at all. I lingered on my post for too long and didn't get to read Octopod's. I, too, hate it when people fail to read previous posts and diss them with similar replies. ;)
Man, and that post was over two years in the making. :D np lol
What else is there that's good...
Fable II
Ninja Gaiden II
Blue Dragon
I haven't played it, but I hear Divinity II: Ego Draconis is pretty all around awesome.
Post what games you have now. Here are some suggestions.
Ninja Gaiden 2
Bayonetta
Saints Row 2(light years better than GTAIV)
Fable 2
Condemned 1/2
Virtua Fighter 5
Dead Rising
Arkham Asylum and Alan Wake are both single player gems. Someone already mentioned it, but I'll repeat it: the first prince of perisa game released on the 360 is just fantastic. Absolutely gorgeous, and I'll never understand why they went back to the previous generation's art style with the next release.
Super Street Fighter 4? I don't know. I'm more of a PS3 guy lately, to be honest. And of course, every game I just mentioned outside of Alan Wake is also in on the PS3.
I cannot believe that Mass Effect and ME2 have not been mentioned. :(
I'd also suggest the following:
Pac-Man: C.E.
Afterburner: Climax
Culdcept Saga
Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved
Sega Rally: REVO
REZ HD
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Bionic Commando
Dragon Age: Origins
Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection
My 2 Cents:
Ace Combat 6
Bayonetta
BlazBlue
Deathsmiles
Devil May Cry 4
ESPGaluda II
Mushihime-sama Futari
Ninja Gaiden 2
Resident Evil 5
Resonance Of Fate(the game has it's issues, but the combat makes it a stand out- to me)
XBLA Games:
Bionic Commando Rearmed
Ikaruga
Rez HD
Virtual On
Fable II is damn good and a fun game.
Blue Dragon is also a pretty long single player game.
fallout 3
Fable 2's ending left me bummed.
