I've become increasingly certain there really aren't many. I have probably about a dozen games, and only a few of them are titles that I'd actually want to play repeatedly.
So my question to the rest of you 360 owners is how many 360 games offer a single-player campaign that is fun enough to keep coming back to?
The only games I have that I can definitely see myself playing through multiple times are the Gears of War games, Bioshock, and maybe Resident Evil 5 and Lost Planet.
360 exclusive??? Not many.... But what I constantly play is Burnout Revenge & MKvsDC and until the MK9 comes out that's about the only couple I play on my 360.... Other than a handful of XBLA titles... I always download all the new demos and try stuff out... I actually play my Wii and recently Dreamcast more often than anything else! I'm always on the lookout for new Unreleased Saturn or Dreamcast games.....
I never said exclusive, but I mean available for the 360 if you don't have a PS3
Don't make the mistake of thinking that the Xbox 360 is only good for online games. That might be what the popular crowd likes it for, but the 360 has more to offer than that. I'm also more of a single player gamer myself, and the Xbox 360 has given me plenty of fun in that regard.
From my own collection and wish list, I can recommend games like Alan Wake, Bayonetta, Condemned Criminal Origins, Devil May Cry 4, Mass Effect and Mirror's Edge. The J-RPG selection isn't great, but I thought Eternal Sonata was a fun romp. Nothing outstanding, but if you need an accessible, uncomplicated yet satisfying RPG, Eternal Sonata fits the bill. If you're into racing games, you can't go wrong with Forza, Project Gotham Racing and the Burnout games. Maybe you can get one of the Tomb Raider games, if that tickles your fancy.
And don't forget the incredible supply of excellent XBox Live Arcade games. I've had many hours of fun with games like Splosion Man, Braid, Rez HD, Pinball FX, and the Doom ports. Get a bunch of friends together, and games like Castle Crashers, Worms 2 and Bomberman Live result in plenty of local multiplayer fun. I would go so far even to say that XBLA has given me more satisfaction overall than the regular full-price games.
Tomb Raider Legend and Tomb Raider Anniversary, definitely. I haven't played TR Underworld yet, but I CAN tell you that you'll wanna play through every level more than once to find all the hidden treasures, which unlock bonuses like artwork, music, costumes, etc. And the exploration and puzzle solving elements will rack your MIND.

Perhaps, but those aren't the kind of games I want to be playing on my PC. That's why I got them for my 360. Atmospheric games just don't come across well when you're sitting behind a desk in front of a monitor. It doesn't do it for me, at least.Quote:

Really, there's lots of demos up on the Marketplace. I'd just pick a genre, set them downloading overnight and have a browse at your leisure later.
I forgot to mention a couple of games that I own for the PS3 but that are also available on the 360. Batman Arkham Asylum, Fallout 3 and Prince of Persia 2008 are definitely recommended. Final Fantasy XIII maybe, though I'm not quite convinced on the game yet myself.

What about Raiden IV and Raiden Fighters Aces? Those arcade-style, 2D titles on hard copy are the top reason why I want to get a 360. Those and the many awesome exclusive RPGs I keep hearing about. :D
As usual someone feels the urge to butt in with their redundant elitism.
Anyway, if I were to start with 7th gen anew I'd definitely go with a PS3. The 360 usually has the better ports of multiplat games but it's not a rule of thumb. Sony's own published games are of arguably higher quality than 360 exclusives, but there's not much to differentiate between the two. Oh and getting both platforms is a redundancy, unless of course you must have all the exclusives on both systems. While FFXIII turned out trite, dampening my initial excitement after the 'multiplatting' announcement, I'm glad LA Noir and MSG:Rising are both going to be multiplatform.
Is there a need to mention multiplat games that are pretty solid on either platform?

Arkham Asylum and Alan Wake are both single player gems. Someone already mentioned it, but I'll repeat it: the first prince of perisa game released on the 360 is just fantastic. Absolutely gorgeous, and I'll never understand why they went back to the previous generation's art style with the next release.
Super Street Fighter 4? I don't know. I'm more of a PS3 guy lately, to be honest. And of course, every game I just mentioned outside of Alan Wake is also in on the PS3.

I wouldn't know how to categorise a 'true' console game. Suffice to say that there's been a lot of overlap for +15 years now. Let's not forget many important PC titles did find their way to 32-bit consoles.. I believe that had the IBM-compatible PC market been huge in Japan we would have gotten more PC ports of JRPGs, driving and fighting games. And with keyboards and mice introduced into the console world more than a decade ago there's no reason why flightsims and RTS games shouldn't be playable on consoles.
I would blame the market more than anything else for the lack of demand for quirky, 'innovative' titles.
