Simply because they're two totally different things with the only thing in common being that you pilot an aircraft.

4)- Also, you encouraged others to make these multipart threads, if everyone does this, Insert Coin won't even have other topics anymore. It'll just be "VS" polls.

1. How about because I'M the one who came up with the idea... when it's your idea, you can do whateverTF you want. Because Colossal threads get old quick imo... and multiple threads that only last for a day or two are more suited for a "VS" type thread imo.

2. This being a SEGA Forum is what makes it more interesting. Case in point, the NES is ahead by 1 in this thread. ;)

3. It's "inaccurate"? You still miss the entire point of my idea. It's not about 'favorites'... it's about pitting games from ones own collection against themselves. I'm 'this' close to giving up... YOUR thoughts, not mine, I'm not necessarily trying to pit identical Genres against each other.

It's a simple, here's 5-10 games for this system from MY collection VS. 5-10 games for this system from MY collection.

This is supposed to be for fun, not a bloody contest.:?

EVERYONE on the board can take part in this 'if' they choose. Everyone has different collections, everyone likes different games, so that's where the interesting side of this comes from. The whole point of this 'VS' Poll idea isn't about which system is better... it's simply so we can all have a laugh and enjoy talking about why one side would win over the other because of our personal opinions/likes/dislikes. It's simply about sparking up conversation about different games.

4. Do you own a Crystal Ball? Didn't think so... perhaps a couple others will join in with this... so far, I've started 3 threads that are DIRECTLY related to Video Gaming (which is what this board is about) in a section of the Forum that is perfectly APT for the subject matter... and you've done nothing but bitch and moan.


You've made your points... I entertained them and answered accordingly.
Now either contribute or find something else to complain about... it's simple really.

It doesn't fail. I think it's totally fun and unpredictable. I'm for sure playing a long, as long as he changes up the systems a bit. Maybe I should start a PCE vs. MD thread, or someone should?

Yeah, except by then Sega and Nintendo weren't really rivals anymore, Sony was more a common enemy so to speak. (hence why it made sense that the GC was a preferred platform for Sega releases in spite of the PS2 obviosuly being the most opular, the 2 old guns in the industry -Tomaitheous stated it more eloquently in past discussions I think; -the Xbox releases early on were obviously tied to their relations on the DC and Peter Moore jumping the gun thinking the Xbox was the next big thing when it never made a dent in the JP market and sucked a ton of money from MS to push as far as it did in the west)


As to the thread... this doesn't make sense; not only have more organized vs threads been done many times already (generally with no conclusion, but often with some interesting discussions -though also a fair bit of flaming/trolling... wow suddenly remembering some old posts by Regalsin for some reasons ;)).
Doing stuff specifically on seemingly random selections from a personal collection rather than the true merits of the platforms seems really odd to me. And cluttering the forum with multiple segments of similar threads seems even more strange.

You can try being a dick to Sega Fan, but it won't work because his skin is too thick. He'll just send you a friend request so you can continue the debate without the awkwardness of worrying about offending the other person, because even friends aren't 100% nice to each other all the time ;)

It was really tough for me because the Genny lineup has World of Illusion (great fun Platformer for me) and Golden Axe II (one of my fav fighters of all time, easy, accessible, can be beaten, looks amazing, brings back memories of when I was a kid) while the other 3 are new to me.

The NES lineup holds a lot more sentiment to me though. Megaman 2, Gradius, and Donkey Kong 3 are games I enjoyed a great deal when I was a kid. I never owned Castlevania 2 as a kid, but remember wanting to have it and play it... along with part 3. Fire'n Ice is an amazing lil Puzzle Platformer I recently discovered in my Console Collecting journeys.


I had to go with the NES on this one.
The next one I put up is going to be a 'cloooooose' call. ;)

Extremely tough decision but since I had to pick, i went with the NES for one reason only: Ninja Gaiden

I like both, end of story
