For me. Sonic CD just had something off about it. It felt generic, long without fun... I dunno. It's hard to put my finger on it, but I was seriously let down when it came out. Apparently the game wasn't done by the original Sonic team or team leader (something like that). So I attribute it to that, even if I can't pinpoint all the specific reasons and say "there, that's why".

Hate to surprise you, but I like TF3 overall more than TF4 :) TF4 has wonderful visuals, great music, etc. But overall TF3 is just more fun to me, without needing to be over the top in every category. I also love the tracks of TF3 over TF4's (although TF4 redone tracks in the Saturn pack-in-bonus audio CD are freaking awesome).

Parker Bros made some decent games on 2600, but Milton Bradley sold the Vectrex. I think we all know who wins.

Yuji Naka, one of the main guys behind the Sonic games (1, 2, 3, K, etc.) did not work on Sonic CD. Nauto Oshima, the original designer behind Sonic 1 was behind it. So yeah, there really is a reason that it feels "different."

I actually agree on TF3. I find it more fun to just pick up and play. The opening theme and the forest level (forget the name) from TF3 are permanently ingrained in my head, but no tunes from TF4 are.

And that list was weak anyway... listing Risk for PB but not Stratego or Battleships. (though on the point of the Vectrex, MB wasn't the initial distributor, they bought GCE who owned the Vectrex)

The titles selected aren't a fair match up for the Mega Drive. I'm the biggest Alex Kidd in Miracle World fan, but I hated Enchanted Castle. Castle of Illusion would've been a better counterpart to Bonk's Adventure.

Fighting Masters has got to be better gameplay-wise than Fighting Street. But Fighting Street is still very entertaining. ;)

Sorry, but Dracula X is better than anything on the Genesis. Or Playstation. Or Saturn. Or...

Okay okay. It might just by my favorite game ever.

Really? I think the Symphony of Night is the best Castlevania game. Bloodlines and the SNES version are next, 'then' comes the TG16 version imo.

As for being better than anything on Genesis or Playstation... wow, I can't agree with you there. ;) But if oldschool 2D Platforming is your favorite Genre, then I guess I can see where you're coming from as the Castlevania series is a tough cookie to beat.

Something about Dracula X just clicks for me, they did everything right, and it's nearly perfect. I do wish it were a tad more difficult though, with the exception of Stage 6 you can pretty much walk through the game. Item crashes are cool, but they almost broke the game.

Speaking of SOTN, after playing through SOTN for the first time I loved it, and wanted to play a real Castlevania game with Richter. So I go to EB and pick up Dracula X for the SNES, figuring it would play like SOTN with Richter.

...the game was $40, well into the PSX/Saturn generation. And it was horrible.

I agree that SotN is better than Rondo of Blood (they are both Dracula X ;) ), but I do not rate Bloodlines or IV higher than Rondo. Rondo is number 2. IV is 3. Bloodlines is 4. III is next. Then I, then II. XX on SNES is... I don't know. I've always stuck with the PC Engine version. I don't know the handhelds well enough to rank them, although I absolutely loved the DS ones. Order of Ecclesia was tops among them. I have beaten the first two of the GBA games and all three on the DS.
