So latly i have developed a love for the saturn, dont get me wrong, i love the system but i didnt used it much, but now i kinda got hooked, anyway, i would like to know what are the best games for the saturn, besides the obvious choices like, nights, virtua fighter series, sega rally, daytona usa, etc. What other games are worth to try out.

Bomberman on Saturn. Of all the stuff I would get rid of (if it ever came down to that), this one I could keep forever. It's a great game (possibly the best Bomberman game in the series. It feels like the natural evolution of Bomberman '94).

VING was another publisher who did outstanding ports. They were responsible for the Taito games: Elevator Action Returns, Metal Black, Night Striker S, and the superb port of Mizubaku Adventure.
Other games not to be missed include: Keio Yugekitai, VATLVA, Three Dirty Dwarves, Sonic R, Dark Savior, Shingata Kururin Pa!, Prikura Diasakusen, Fantasic Pinball, and Soukyugurentai, and plenty others.
I'm also particularly fond of the SegaAges releases of Out Run and Power Drift.
The "I Love Mickey and Donald" SegaAges disc is nice to play Castle of Illusion too!

and as for the Panzer Dragoon series: if you haven't played them yet, I strongly encourage you to play them in order. Particularly so you can appreciate how graphics and gameplay evolved through the course of the three games. The first two games can be very challenging and the graphics for the first Panzer Dragoon may be hard to stomach, but you will appreciate the series so much more if you play them in order.
My second favorite game on the Saturn, only behind NiGHTS into Dreams. A really underrated, awesome game. I paid $60 for it last year around November and played it nonstop from the day I got it probably up until January, it was just a really good game, despite how short it is.
There's only one popular Saturn game I'd stay away from though, and that's Guardian Heroes. That game just didn't do anything for me. Bought it for like $85, and flipped it two weeks later, the gameplay is just too clunky.
I have that port of Outrun, it's really great. One of these days I still want to get the Sega Ages Mickey/Donald, but it seems fairly hard to come across.Quote:

I can sort of agree with this. The gameplay takes a bit of perseverance. Like the other Treasure games on Saturn, Guardian Heroes is challenging and requires a lot of practice and technique. It certainly isn't a button masher.Quote:

I'd still recommend it just to experience how freaking awesome the design and game progression is. Heck the story is so off the wall that you might as well buy the JPN version for 1/4 the price of the US version.
As far as beat-em-ups go, Dungeons and Dragons Collection is the way to go.
Now here's an odd thing where I seem to be in the minority ~ I absolutely love Advance Guardian Heroes on GBA and feel it is better than the original Saturn game. It is easily one of the top GBA games ever and one of the best sequels ever made.
(btw, another odd Saturn to GBA game lineage is Car Battler Joe, which is the sequel to VATLVA.)
Yeah, the Mickey/Donald game doesn't turn up too often, but it is usually relatively cheap, since it is after all only ports of two Mega Drive games. It shouldn't cost more than $30Quote:

Shining Force III Scenarios 1 - 3 are the peak of the series gameplay-wise and are as a good as games get. None of them require japanese knowledge to play through and enjoy. There are tons of walkthroughs online if you want to make the journeys between battles as quick as possible.
Virtua Cop 1 & 2 and House of the Dead are lots of fun if you can find a cheap light gun or two and have a decent sized crt TV.
I've never grown tired of Daytona USA and Sega Rally for Saturn. I prefer the original arcade-faithful Daytona over the CCE. If you go for Sega Rally, make sure to pick up a Netlink Edition. The Netlink part is purely optional, but the graphics have been upgraded and there may be a few extra options.
As already mentioned, Saturn Bomberman is the peak of its series, which is already famous for its legendary multi-player experience.
If you can handle playing through an RPG using a walkthrough, Grandia, Lunar SSS(/MPEG) and Lunar Eternal Blue are all great games and noticeable superior to the Playstation ports. Tengai Makyou The Apocalypse IV is a very original game in a very original series and not only is it super fun and epic, you won't find another game quite like on any console.
Policenauts is very entertaining if you can handle a digital comic. Again the Saturn version is the best around.
X-Men VS Street Fighter, Marvel VS Street Fighter, Vampire Savior, Street Fighter Zero 3 and Dungeons & Dragons Collection are all perfect arcade ports that use the 4meg ram cart. All play best on Saturn using the model 2/japanese pad. X-Men COTA and Marvel Super Heroes are still unique and fun too.
Guardian Heroes is a great non-linear beat-'em-up from Treasure.
Powerslave, Quake and Duke Nukem 3D are all great first person shooters for the time and all feature great Saturn graphics with effects that are supposed to be "impossible" on Saturn.
Dead or Alive does a better job with high res 3D graphics with 2D backgrounds than Virtua Fighter 2.
I'd rank Burning Rangers above Nights. The gameplay is so much better, even with the graphic glitches; It's not like Nights doesn't have its share of problems.Quote:

The Darius II is pretty mediocre, imo.
Fighters Megamix is a pretty cool novelty, but it ain't worth too much time, unless you live for fighting games (or Sega characters.)
Galaxy Force II seemed pretty bad, and I've read that there are all kinds of problems with the port. Anybody wanting to play Galaxy Force II would be best off getting the enhanced PS2 port.
And Gun Griffon was really cool back in 1996, but I doubt anyone is going to be able to get into it now, unless they are really into mech-battle games.

Astal was meh, really makes me wish there had been more 2D platformers and 2D games in general that took advantage of the Saturn because it looks great though.
You think Astal is overrated? Apparently nobody has actually played NiGHTs. That game is over rated.

It is risky criticizing a revered series like Darius. There is no disputing that Darius II is awesome and that the Saturn port and the simulated widescreen mode is worth playing. But overall, money is best spent elsewhere on the system, like on Darius Gaiden which absolutely rocks! :rock:Quote:

I guess so. It just seemed extra difficult to control - I used the analog pad for the hour or so that I played it. You know... at the time I last played it I think I neglected to realize that controlling the crafts velocity is integral to the game... hrmmm will have to give this another try, especially after having spent considerable time with the PS2 version.Quote:

This really depends what type of games you're into but in addition to some already mentioned:
SCUD: Disposable Assassin
- Despite the pretty harsh difficulty level I find this platformer really enjoyable, and it looks great.
Mass Destruction
- Just a cool fun messing about blow shit up tank game.
Dark Savior
- Fantastic action RPG
Iron Storm
- Brilliant WWII turn based strategy with some great JAP only games in the same series.
Daytona USA CE
- no NOT CCE, CE is the Jap version and retains the arcade handling with many of the important updates found in CCE, this really is the best version of the game.
Last Bronx
- People seem quick to crap on this fighter, but the gameplay is solid and it looks good for the most part.
To echo what others have said, the Panzer Dragoon series really is a must have for any Saturn owner IMHO.

First of all thank you guys for all the recomended games, looks like im going to have a Saturn Marathon XD. and "The Coop" thats a good freaking list you got there XD.
Also about astral i took a look at it, the grafics are good,but the gameplay doesnt really cut it for me.
