Games within Games(hidden/unlockable)

Ive recently discovered that excitebike(nes) is unlockable in excitebike 64, and Ive also read that the arcade version of donkey kong is hidden in donkey kong 64, is that true?

What are some others that people may not know of?
What (if anything) is different from the original version?

Eliminate Down (MD): Mini game in options.
Slap Fight MD: includes both the arcade port and a MD version

There are some examples I can think of right now:

-The original Pac-Man is included in Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures and all three Pac-Man World games, although only in Pac-Man 2 and Pac-Man World 2 it appears as an unlockable. And, in Pac-Man World 2, there's also Ms. Pac-Man (FOR 180 FREAKIN' TOKENS! INSANITY!), Pac-Attack and Pac-Mania. And (I think) the original Ms. Pac-Man is present on Ms. Pac-Man: Maze Madness

-The AM2 arcade games on Shenmue and Shenmue 2

-The unlockable NES games on Animal Crossing

-Panzer Dragoon Orta includes an enhanced version of the original Panzer Dragoon

-Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 3 includes all 3 Star Wars arcade games by Atari (Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi)

-Tekken 5's Arcade History mode has the first three Tekkens in their original arcade versions and Starblade

-Contra 4 contains the NES versions of the original and Super C

There is a shmup minigame in Mortal Kombat 3.

Maniac Mansion can be played on a computer inside of its sequel, Day of the Tentacle.

How about the Snail maze game in the SMS? Sort of...

Metroid (NES) is unlocked when you beat Metroid Zero Mission (GBA).

There are a good batch of unlockable games in the JPN versions of Sonic Gems collection ~ like the Bare Knuckles games and Vectormam ...were Game Gear games on that collection too? I can't remember.

The paddle game BombBee is hidden on the JPN Namco Museum Vol.2 It is even compatible with the Namco Volume (dial) controller.
A bunch of those Namco Museum discs had hidden games.
A very little known secret that I've seen from one of the guidebooks, that Super Assault is hidden on Vol.4. "Assault Plus" is in there too, but they actually made an all new Super Assault with extra hard turrets and enemies and stuff. I've not been able to figure out how to unlock it though. ...anyone want to translate the guidebook scans for me?
Assault has some die-hard fans, and I don't think anyone really knows about this unofficial squeal. At least I've never seen it mentioned on the internet.

didn't budokan have a hidden breakout game in it

i just tried my budokan and it dont work in my system it has some screen that is all warped i dont know what is going on it worked years ago but i may have bought a new system

Dracula X: Rondo of Blood has a mini game if you boot the game with the old systems cards (2.0 or 1.0).


In Final Fantasy 1 for NES, you can unlock a mini game when you're in the over world.


I know there's more, but I can't seem to think of any at the moment.

Edit: Oh, Mystical Ninja for the SNES had unlockable games (or just mini games in the arcade tent of the carnival area).

The pack-in game for the Turbo Duo was 3-in-1 Gate of thunder, Bonk 1, and Bonk 2. But at the menu screen, if you put in a special code, you'd get access to a full game of the original hucard Bomberman (making it a 4-in-1 CD, really).

Tecnically, Retro Game Challenge has 7, 6 unlockable(most of them being very good clones of arcade/early NES type games).

PS. I wish Retro Game Challenge 2 would be localized, there's suppose to be 14 games in that game.

The original Pitfall is in the Pitfall Mayan adventure, you can find it as a secret in one of the levels but i just put in a cheat code at the title screen.

In Red Zone you can play Asteroids either via a bunker computer or a password

Lost Viking shmup in Starcraft 2

The Xbox Ninja Gaidens supposedly have the original NES games in them.

I believe there's also arcade machines with the original Doom in the Doom 3 expansion

MK Armageddon has UMK3 in the special edition disc.
