Mortal Kombat all the way!
Street fighter ex series are great too and very very underrated I think that capcom or arika?, needs to do something because is a waste to left the series forgotten
I enjoy Dead or Alive and Virtua Fighter a lot. I also really liked the Fighting Vipers series, but that didn't seem to really take off as much as VF did.
Bloody Roar. I love the heavy metal soundtracks and the games werent as technical as DOA, Tekken, and VF but to me they were a hell of a lot more fun.
Which one? Deadly Alliance was a great (although rather limiting) return to form, Deception was probably my fave of this later generation, and Armageddon was just over the top. MK v.s. DC was cool, and MK9 was incredible (and blows all the newer MK games away, IMHO).
VF5 Final Showdown.
Pretty much virtua fighter as a series for me. VF2 and 3tb were the most played of mine. VF4 annoys me and 5 only partially fixes it. I kind of like the ranking and arcades of the later twos but at the same time feel like I'm seeing the game dumbed down for the DVD generation. Also, where is my tiered environments from 3?
For other 3d fighting fare, virtual on and powerstone all the way.
I've thought about it, and I have to go with Powerstone.
Motion controls brought nothing to the fighting genre. If anything the Kinect fighting games are nothing more than a curious distraction.
Tekken Tag Tournament 2... fuck yeah!!, that game is the epitome of 3d fighting games, it's just great, so much fun, great game mechanics, outstanding graphics and sound, meta game is just... superb, one of the best, if not the best, fighting game ever.
I cant pick between Virtua Fighter and Tekken, they are both so awesome, Tekken 3 is probably my favourite Ps1 game, as for Virtua Fighter its either 2 or 5
Smart man
VF4 made the series deeper, only in VF5:FS they made it more user friendly, and it was only with a few aspects, and even with that it's deeper than anybody else's 3D fighter.Everybody else is hung up on making the game casual friendly, and that's where they fail.
