Sega Genesis Showcase: Streaming Saturday Night!

Hi everyone, this Saturday August 28th at 9 PM US Central Standard Time, I will be hosting my usual "Multi Tap: Classic Console Showcase" live stream and chat (http://www.justin.tv/mugenmidget). However, with the arrival of my new capture device, I can finally stream footage from the Genesis! So I was wondering if there were any particular games you would like to see highlighted during this event.

Master System, 32X, and Sega CD suggestions are also welcome, as they all work together to make the Genesis's library truly awesome. :p

The focus for my stream is usually on games with multiplayer modes, so I'll be looking to show off some of the unique multiplayer experiences the Genesis can offer. A lot of the games I'll be highlighting I discovered through this very site, whether through the excellent articles or the brilliant suggestion threads on the forums. But if there is some game you'd really like to see, do not hesitate to suggest it even if you feel it is redundant or it lacks multiplayer.

And I'm sorry to hear that, cherrypopwizkid. :( Hosting it on Saturday night currently works best for my schedule but that's prone to change based on user feedback/my work schedule/school. Plus there's always special holidays/events. In fact, the Mega Drive's 22nd anniversary will be on a Friday... :D

A lot of great suggestions so far, I'm looking forward to playing them with everyone!

well I just set up a facebook login on the page anyway so that if there is something going on on a day i can attend I'll be there.

Awesome! As a side note, Facebook isn't required to chat, and most people just use their Justin.TV accounts (which is what everyone seemed to be doing last time). But I think the Facebook/Twitter account posts get shared with everyone in the main chat so it shouldn't be a big deal.

Looking forward to sharing lots of Genesis games with you guys, keep those suggestions coming!

Yep, sorry if I was confusing with that, I just meant October 29th would be a Friday this year. Not talking about this Friday. :p

I'll will certainly try to watch this. I can't say with absolute certainty due to the nature of things not being easily predictable, but you will most likely see me pop my head in to say something witty. ;)

As for Genesis games to play, hows about some Thunderforce 3, Boogerman, Earthworm Jim, Lethal Enforcers, and maybe some Pitfall:The Mayan Adventure or Snatcher if you have a Sega CD hooked up. I know most of these aren't multiplayer (all of them aren't if you don't have a working pink Justifier), but I'm sure they'll be just as entertaining.

Is it just going to be Genesis, or will there be some other non-Genesis games? Maybe you could choose a Genesis game and play some of it's successors on other platforms like go from Sonic 1 to Sonic R to Sonic Adventure. Though, I suppose that would use up a lot of time.

Yea I think it's gonna be 100% dedicated to the Genesis/CD/32X/Master System combo as a way of celebrating their arrival to the showcase. Fortunately there are plenty of games available on this combo so there should still be a wide variety to feature.

On the Mega Drive's anniversary maybe I'll just play all the launch games or just some of the earlier titles, but I like your idea of celebrating the evolution of Sonic so we'll have to do that some time as well! I think I'll also have an Atari 2600/7800 night in the same vein as this event, because they also gave my Gamebridge problems when I tried to capture them.

I actually do have a pink Justifier, so it sounds like we'll need to play Lethal Enforcers! And I do have the CD unit yet have never played Snatcher (gasp!), but maybe that game needs a whole night dedicated to it? I really don't know as someone who hasn't touched it.

Ooh, I'm gonna check that out on Saturday. Show some Thunder Force games or any other Genesis Shoot-em-Up(Gaires, MUSHA, anything you can think of). That will make me happy.

And some of Sega's arcade ports(Altered Beast, After Burner II, Golden Axe, whatever you have that was ported from arcades to the Genesis).

As well as other people's suggestions, namely Contra Hard Corps if you have it.

Awesome, Ace, glad to hear it! :) We'll definitely see how many of those we can show on Saturday. Contra Hard Corps always gives us a rough time so it should be entertaining for anyone who tunes in. :rofl:

I think I'll be playing Contra Hard Corps on one of my Genesis system(maybe my Model 3 since I've been using it a lot lately) at the same time as you'll be playing. Odds are, I will get my ass handed to me, maybe even worse than you.
