Yay Genny TG2 love!

And what KD said (no music during races) reminds me of something that happened with the cart I had: for some reason, all music was removed!

And I kinda prefer music but no SFX... on Lotus 2, at least. Because, after hearing the SFX on Classic Game Room's review, I gotta say they were, well... bad

Coincidentally, when I saw this thread I was listening to one of the tracks from the Genesis version

Heh, did you miss the other replies or forget about my comments on you top gear 2 video? There is music, but you have to select it in the menu: it's like a lot of Amiga and C64 games: Music OR SFX.

It's a bit of a shame they didn't use PSG, that would have solved a lot of the issues (even if they just opted for PSG for SFX and FM for music -but it could be better optimized than that).
I don't think they used any PCM at all, or at least I didn't hear any when I played it or browsed the sound test.

It's also odd that they did that on the SNES too, cutting out the lead melodic instruments rather than a percussion channel as usual. (or bassline, or supporting instruments, etc)

Top Gear 2 is one of my all time favorite genesis driving games.
