Does anyone here collect them to have a full collection of releases on the CD add-on? Saw this on ebay and first thought was wow, £20.00 for postage for a single disc:D

I checked http://www.sega-mega-cd-library.co.uk/ and apparently the owner of the site has only ever seen a picture of that disk, which I guess is the other one that the ebay guy refers to.
I've bought stuff of that ebay seller before - he does have an extensive supply of rare and new sealed MegaCD games. He normally sets the price pretty high but this one really takes the biscuit. I doubt anybody would pay much more than a couple of hundred but I'll be watching the auction just to see

I used to have the Dragon's Lair demo disc which was just one sequence (the room with the flashing, colored tiles on the floor). I also had a AH-3 Thunderhawk demo disc. They'd get them in at EB (Electronics Boutique) to run in their kiosks, but they didn't have a Sega CD. They knew I liked that shit so they gave them to me. I wish I knew what I did with them!

I think that this is new listing is the 3rd - the guy that runs http://www.sega-mega-cd-library.co.uk/ has seen the first, spence saw that and listed his disk as the second and then other guy sees spencers listing and lists his, making it the third one to show up.
Be interesting to see if either of them sell and how much for. Anybody know what the current record for a demo cd is atm?
I have most of those Mega-CD demo discs, I collected them from the original mags all those years ago. I don't remember seeing Novastorm or Lethal Enforcers though, I must've missed those.Quote:

What the hell? $700 or even $9.999 for the Beast II demo? Only two made?
I bought this exact demo disc of eBay a couple of months ago and I payed like 5 bucks for it since it was cheap. Either I got EXTREMELY lucky or these sellers are talking nothing but bullshit.

Over the last few years this 'spence' guy and a handful of other rip-off merchants have sucked a lot of the fun out of this hobby. It's going to get to the stage where he's bought up the entire worlds gaming stock like some crazed supervillian :daze:
Hmm I've been watching him lately and I agree. about 30% of the Sega CD games on ebay are his. They are all BIN and overpriced. Starting to wish he'd fuck off
Been stalking spence a bit. The bloke bought a sealed terminator for the mega cd for £25 and relisted it BIN at £90. What a complete twat, I've excluded his name from my searches.
Didn't know you can exclude a seller from searches? I'm so fed up of the rip offs showing up in my searches.
A few months back I sent a question to spence (not because I was going to buy, just wanted some info) I got a reply very quickly which ended with SO DO WE HAVE A DEAL?. I didn't reply. A couple of days later he mailed again : COME ON DO WE HAVE A DEAL THEN??? Talk about grabby! :o
Yeah, and I recommend Amazon over E-bay.
The thing that I dont like about buying old games from Amazon is that there is normally no description at all so its hard to tell whether you are buying one with the box.
@zilog if you search for 'sega mega cd, -spence.77' you'll get all the mega cd games but none of spences' overprices BINs

I brought Mega Bomberman about a year ago from a seller for 10 pounds. When I finally got it, there was no manual and the label was coming off.
At least with EBay, you can check to see what you buy.
