22 must-have games of all time

Why are there no shmups on your list? JP is poop. Replace with TFIV or MUSHA imo. Or have both, one of each type of shmup, since you have a spot left after including Castlevania.
I wouldn't go for EVERY Sonic game if I could only have 22 games, since they're too similar. Certainly no Sonic 3D, but I'm probably beating a dead horse here.
Why not just have your favourite Sonic game, and replace the other ones with Ristar, Rocket Knight Adventures and then an RPG such as Wonderboy or PSIV, or if you don't want any RPGs since it's supposed to turn into an arcade cabinet, a little more variety in the form of Ecco the Dolphin and your favourite Street Fighter or Golden Axe.
Also, Virtua Racing? Really? Go for Road Rash 2 instead!

Do you guys realise how extremly expensive some of the games are you are mention? Musha doesn't sell bellow €150. Let's not talk about Alien Soldier...

Thunderforce is something I would consider but I'm not goin to replace anymore in my list for a new title. JP had nostalgic value to me so that's worth a lot more to me than a 'technically' advanced game.

It's not speficik about titles that are considered the best of the system, more over the fun factor and "sega" feel itself. When I see my list I think yeah, that's how sega was. I remember all those games back in the day or even played them

It doesn't get much more "Sega" than Thunder Force IV, dude. Shmups were a big part of the 16-bit era, and Genesis had some of the best out there. And you don't have a single one on your list. TFIV can be had quite cheaply (I got my copy from a forum poster here, actually, for only fifteen bucks). And it's fucking awesome. Just saying.

If Jurassic Park is really that important to your collection, I would recommend dumping either Batman or Hyperstone Heist. You've got a pretty solid list otherwise, but TFIV would really help round it out. And since you've got Streets of Rage II on there, Hyperstone Heist really isn't that essential, especially considering you're limiting yourself to 22 games. That's insane by the way, considering how inexpensive most Genesis/Megadrive games are.

well, i' prolly gonna buy Thunderforce 4 since that will be my 22th game so no need for replacing another game. Anyway thanks for the idea's. I apreciate it a lot!

I wouldn't count Virtua Racing as a best game out there personally. More like an average tech demo. Road Rash and Outrun are better games IMO. Jurassic Park... Pretty good variety but no RPG's? Actually, I'm not a big fan of most 16 bit RPG's either. To help round this out though, you could consider College Slam (best of NBA jam type games) and Wonderboy in Monster World. No real collection is missing Revenge of Shinobi! ;)

Well, to be honest, no. But then again, that wasn't really your aim.
VR, JP, and Batman are definitely no top 22 games, the others could be. :)
I would substitute those 3 games for TJ&E, Road Rash 2 and PSIV. But I understand that nostalgia plays a part as well.
Looks like an overall solid list, it's just missing sports titles and RPGs.

Yes, especially with a 22 cart limit! Miquell, you could even keep JP in your list if you switch Sonic 1 with this cart! ;)

22 games is limited - as has been said already...but...i think its a fairly solid list dood!

well, the reason why I didn't choose for cartridges with multiple games on it is because I like the artwork of seperate games ( the box, manual etc ) more over a 6-pak box. I made one exeption with quackshot and castle of illusion but that still is a nice looking boxart. I'm kinda picky in those things I guess. I think that if you're going for paks you might as well go for a single flashcard and you're done, but that isn't my goal.

I want to thank everyone that suggested great titles and made my list complete :)

oh I've one question left, I've seen some vids about ranger-x, it sure does look really great! If you had to suggest me thunderforce or ranger x. What game would you recommend and why?
