The best ninja game ever shadow dancer!
The game is just too great.
How can someone have the patience to talk about shadow dancer for 8 years straight.
because im a huge fan of shadow dancer
shadow dancer always going to have a great gameplay...
there are shadow dancer fans out there like me ^_^
I like this game. I've been playing it a bit recently and I've managed to find a ton of extra lives, but I still can't beat the damn last boss. Too many damn black ninjas!
Did anyone ever find out the story behind Daminmancejin? Was it really one guy posting about Shadow Dancer across multiple forums for years?
Shadow dancer is a sick game.
I beat it once.
Must have for SG fans.
I have been playing the shit out of Shadow Dancer lately, amazing game. I just can not get over how awesome the song is for the bonus round. I really wish Shinobi III had a "Shoot All Ninjas!" bonus round type of deal like the arcade game, and SD.
Shadow Dancer sounds excellent on my Model 1 HDG Genesis. Some thumping bass, I love it.
Shadow Dancer has moved up on my list of favorite Shinobi games. I have never played the Arcade version, is the SMS port worth messing with?
Shadow Dancer always jarred with me. It took the cheap arcade kill past my patience limit, was nothing like Revenge of Shinobi and ended up being a frustrating experience rather than an enjoyable one. So I tried playing it again 20 years down the line :)
It's still nothing like Revenge, employs the cheap arcade kill without so much as by-your-leave and is still frustrating at times. What strikes me about Shadow Dancer now though - given 20 year's distance - is it plays more like a puzzle game than a platform/adventure. Basically there's one good route through a level and you've got to find that to win the game properly and score the maximum amount of points. Everything else you do is about as productive as trying to mash together two ill-fitting jigsaw pieces - you might beat the game by doing so, but you end up with an imperfect result.
This game is pure bliss: the closest thing we have to an actual Shinobi port (that is, until Tryphon finishes his awesome port), better than the arcade, pure Sega arcade action…
Yet there's something I actually don't like: it may be a pet peeve if you want. THAT DEATH TUNE. Holy crap, it's like a punch to the gut, a bona fide ear rapist. These are the moments where one misses Yuzo Koshiro.
