What sort of Internet speed do you get?

Just curious. I've just swapped from BT to Sky, and my speed's literally tripled overnight. Currently paying £21 per month for phone & broadband, which is also less than what I was paying previously. Finally, I can watch the iPlayer and SeeSaw in full screen without it looking like a mobile phone video on Youtube.

I am paying $25 a month for what ATT says is 1.5 mbps service. My actual speed is somewhere around 1.2 - 1.3

I'm on a 50/3 megabit connection from Shaw Cable, but until my new modem arrives in the mail I'm limited to half that. It costs me just over $100 CAD.

At home on my shitty CDMA based setup the Ping is 200ms....2000ms, Download is ~0.5Mbit/sec and upload ~0.05Mbit/sec

I live in a complete hell hole, where you got CDMA based wireless or dial-up.... both cost the same but dial up is about 10 times slower due to very crappy phone line...

But if things go well, I may be able to move out this month, or the next one ^^

I pay about R350 a month I get 5 gigs and 20 local(so only south african sites which are very few)

And my line speed is about 384kbps :( Stupid expansive internet in this country.

I'm actually paying for double the speed. There was no deal for 3 Mbit services, only 6 Mbit.
But since my ISP has failed to replace one small piece of cable for like 5 years now, (it's
really like 100 Meters from me to people who can have 16 Mbit/s) my speed is limited to
what you see above. If I would have lived in the same street, but in a different house
number, I would have got the 6 Mbit/s I'm paying for.

Mate, thats what i was getting. When i checked there prices on the website it worked out i could get BT Infinity (fibre optics) for the same price as i was paying for there normal broadband package :(

I phoned them up and changed over, depending on what your paying you should also check

Im paying 75 per quarter (every 3 months) and that includes unlimited downloads and all that, obviously like all companies the have a "fair" use policy but i have never been given a warning and i do love a movie ;) I downloaded a full HD movie from itunes and i got it within 10 mins. I used to have to wait about 2-3 hours. Albums take seconds.

Okay, I hate to be a grammar cop, but there are some posts here that are making me wince when I read them. Just for the record:

'Would of' should be 'would have' or 'would've' as the contraction.

'There' = "What's that over there?"

'Their' = "I called about their service."

'They're' = "I hope they're aware of the issue."

One looks incredibly stupid when mixing these applications up in their posts...

Its kool to be a grammer fed if you have loads of spare time on your hands i guess. Do you correct people when they say wata instead of water too?

I think its a old persons thing as my nan used to do the same. But then she never used words like LoL or LMFA either.
