Playing NES games on a XBox / XBox 360

Hi,

I have a friend who ask me if NES consoles were easy to find, because he played to Super Mario Bros. + Duck Hunt, and would like to replay.

I told him that NES can be found at an average price of 50$, but aren't the most durable systems, y'know the cartridge slot, blowing in the games...

Insted, I recommended him to play NES roms:

1. On a Dreamcast (Don't have one).
1. On his XBox (Original) / XBox 360. He own both of these systems.

He's using more his 360, so he would like to use it to play the NES. I don't know quite a lot Microsoft systems, so I searched, and found NESCafe, which require a modded 360.

He doesn't mod, but he know someone who's performing 360 mods, he'll see with him. Now, what should he do to make NESCafe work? How do he install it, and what should he mod?

Do NESCafe run fine (Like NesterDC, for exemple)?

u need a jtag xbox 360 for that , i would mod the xbox1 and play nes on that

Modding the XBox 1 is easier?

Forget the Xbox 360; too much work.

The Xbox 1 is easier to mod and the emulators are far better (at the moment].

To mod a Xbox 1, you need the following:

- Splinter Cell for the original Xbox
- Action Replay for the original Xbox
- Some illegal hard-to-find files.

JTAG cannot be done on a machine with updated dashboard, and you cannot go online etc. with JTAG ever again either... I got 2x JTAGs for offline fun, and 1x virgin for online stuff.

Xbox1 will be the easiest way to go.

Actually I was a bit surprised since the Xbox d-pad is ok for some d-pad intensive games like the Tony Hawk series for example. Anyway I hope the 360 has a better one.

Yeah the official pad's have rubbish dpads. I myself I'm looking into getting a PS2 pad converter, but alas, I'm short on cash.

The sound is not going to be worth it imo.
