What systems are hard to find in your area?

I went through videogame stores and electronic stores in my area and noticed a) used electronic stores in my areas offer lower prices on used game systems then videogame stores and b)Sega Saturn in my area is harder to find then a BetaMax, I have still to find one store in my area that has a used Saturn (though I have yet to look through them all) and while I even found Saturn Games the Saturn system is (in the stores in my area) more rare then the SMS.

I am now kicking myself for selling my Saturn 5 years ago as it looks like I'll have to pay inflated eBay prices if I want a Saturn.

Anyway what video games systems are hard to find in your area?

Saturn is pretty hard to find in the wild in any area unless you actually know of a store that stocks them and they're usually independent places. I can usually find what I'm looking for though except for Saturn and Sega CD stuff.

I just find it odd that in used electronic stores I went through they have Betamaxs, 8-tracks and in the videogame sections SMS hardware yet the Saturn is too obsure? Didn't the Saturn outsell the SMS?

Well in my area all there is that I know of is an EB Games. They only go as far back as N64 and playstation. So it's nearly impossible to get ahold of anything older in my area. Even flea markets and garage sales lack video games. :(

Have you checked out pawn stores, Barracuda?

There's absolutely no stores in my area that sell old video games which I don't seem to understand since I live in one of the largest cities. There are some flea markets in Manhattan that could have them but it's too far away. I'll try looking into that in the future. Ha... my EB Games doesn't even have N64 games and barely any PSX ones... most of them are used...

I bought my model 1 Saturn off of ebay for $40 bucks. Came with a controller, AC adapter, and that RF thingy. Not a bad deal at all, well at least for me. Of course I keep hearing people on this forum buying Saturns with 20 games at $5 bucks from some chop shop or something but oh well...

The towns in my area don't allow pawn shops. I live in a videogame void.

No used electronic stores? You know the stores with the signs like "We Buy&Sell: DVDs, CDs, TVs, VCR, Stereos"

They are a gold mine for NES, SNES, Genesis, Gameboy, Gamegear, PSX, N64 and Dreamcast games/systems

Just watchout for scratches and ask to inspect CDs for visible scraches before you buy, some of the people who sell their games and system to such stores don't take good care of them.

How much did shipping costs? When you figure in shipping eBay usally costs more then buying used locally.

It $40 total. I won the auction around $25 and shipping was $15. I'm just estimating here because I bought this a few months back and don't really remember the exact price. It was around $40 give or take a few bucks...

The stores around here don't even carry used Dreamcasts. The only electronics store that does that I can think of off the top of my head is an hour's drive away.

Although it's not horrendously hard to find the systems, good luck finding Turbografx games here. Even the dedicated classic games store, which has several games in stock for systems like Fairchild Channel-F and TRS-80, has little more than TV Sports and Keith Courage.

Pre-NES consoles other than 2600, Intellivision, and Colecovision are nowhere to be seen. I have never, ever seen a 5200, Odyssey2, or Bally for sale in the wild. I saw one Vectrex once, years ago.

I have also never seen a CDi for sale anywhere, even when the system was still in production. It's been several years since I've seen a 3DO, Jaguar, Virtual Boy, Game.com, or Neo Geo CD system for sale. However, Neo Geo AES systems do pop up once in a great while, usually for large sums of money. NGPC systems and games have become scarce again now that those repackaged systems and game packs (from '03) are long gone.

Saturns are relatively common here. 32x's used to be, but haven't been for years. Sega CD isn't too bad.

Not really, of course I work in a used game shop so finding games isn't really a problem. But I rarely see the failure tweener systems, the jaguar is the most common. I can't even recall if their was ever a 3DO in stock.

I ran into a 3DO in the wild last year. I haven't seen a NeoGeo in a while though.

Saturn is pretty rare, I havent seen Sega CD anywhere =(

I have never seen a Neo Geo in the wild, nore have I a Turbografix-16, or a Jaguar, there are obviously more, but I haven't gone hunting in years, and I can't think as of right now.
