The NA release got just a general rock compilation album. The EU release got the arranged soundtrack by Howard Drossin. It was released later separetely in the US as part of Sega's "Sega Tunes" label.
It does exist. I have it. Seems to be a EU only thing tho.
The CD's mirrored, so it's hard to take a decent photo. HOWEVER:

As previously mentioned, yes, it does exist. The reason you might figure otherwise is because little, if any sealed CIB copies of the game exist anymore. Being packaged in that infernal cardboard packaging, most who bought the game probably threw away the box and later the CD, which in the U.S featured artists and music that had NOTHING to do with the game. Little-known rock/punk acts from this small-time label, which perhaps had songs that invoked Comix Zone's soundtrack at most. Bad marketing decision SOA, should've packed in the arranged soundtrack that EU got.
Interesting. Wish I could get my hands on that PAL version CD...
I own a factory sealed copy of the U.S. Comix Zone. I suppose the cd is still in there.
I have both CD's. The US Genesis version came with a sampler CD of artists on the American Recordings label. The US PC version came with an arranged version of the game soundtrack played on regular instruments (guitar/drums) and with lyrics. The latter is the same as the Sega Tunes release, but not labeled as such.
Yes I was mad when I received a "complete" copy with no cd.
I got it with my PAL copy from eBay, not sure if it's the official box though. I've seen a version of the packaging that has a word balloon coming from Sketch saying "Free CD." I got the CD with a box that did not feature this balloon. It's not bad, but it sounds a little like a promo CD your mate's band might have done. A good band though.
I highly suggest you guys reroute some of your off topic time(ban drama central:daze:) and go digging through the old Sega-16.com features from time to time, sometimes we forget just how awesome this website really is: http://www.sega-16.com/feature_page....20CD%20Sampler
here for the games, my friends, I'm Just here for the games
My copy of Comix Zone was factory sealed, so it did come with the CD, but I'm in the US so it came with that rock compilation thing. Never bothered to listen to it.
Danzig FTW!
I have only the Sega Smash Pack 2 with the game on it.
Here's an American Comix Zone complete with sampler CD:

Can be yours for only $14.99 + $3.00 shipping.
I actually found an empty Comix Zone box that only had the CD in the sleeve (no cartridge or manual) at a swap meet once, and the box was in decent condition as well. Some shelf wear but at least it wasn't crushed or sun-damaged.
Anyway, I later picked up a copy of Comix Zone at a place where I had a bunch of store credit. I don't know how the game came packaged originally, but the when I found it at the swap meet someone had slipped the CD into the box, which made it kind of difficult to open compared to the other "cardboard" box games I have. When I tried to put the cart and the CD in at the same time it bulged out a lot so now I just store the CD separately.
I would honestly rather have the manual than the CD, to be honest. I'll probably never listen to the CD.
Cheers, I'll not worry too much about that then! Can't remember what I paid for it, but I did win it at auction for a cheaper price than a buy it now copy. I remember it was slightly more than I might normally pay, but it was worth it for the collection!

Just found this, I think I paid more for it though (ouch!).
