I got a problem here with my Mega Cart ---
I ordered the cart for the American Sega CD.
My console config is Genesis model 1, Sega CD model 2 and 32X. The Mega Cart is inserted in the 32X slot.
Well, today I played the Japanese CD for Sol-Feace, and the screen froze twice on the 1st stage. I thought "Ok, let's try again". Then I played through the hole game and the system froze on me again... on the last boss! Damn!
Notes:
- Sega CD never presented any freezing problems with American games.
- Sol-Feace CD is brand-new.
What could be happening?
Did you try removing the 32x? (process of elimination)
That's what I'll probably do next if this behavior continues for my next 2-3 tries.
After I posted I turned it on again. Sol-Feace froze 3 times in stage 1. Afterwards I beat the game with no problem at all!
How's that for weird?
Hi Kollision,
The 32x can make the Megacart Instable, but only when the two inside ribbons are badly connected (hardware failure, not megacart).
Bad connected ribbon sometimes let you play normal megadrive games, but some 32x games will fail and megacart too.
I had this issue when debugging megacart, was silly to debug a hardware on the 32x that is obviously a lot more bugged itself haha :P
Maybe the 32x getting warmer after few minutes, the ribbons had better connections...
Also, maybe nobody never played/reported this issue, I would be sorry, but in theory, its been validated for hours of play on all combos.
Thx.
Ok, so I ditched the play rom idea. Im focusing on playing other Region CDs now. And it says that some CD's require a region/Hz switch? Isnt that kind of odd? If I had a region/Hz switch on my Mega CD i wouldnt need a cart anyway?
Is there a list of the games that requires a mod to play?
No, the Hz output doesn't decide the region on the Mega CD, the BIOS does. I think the region switch is meant for the Mega Drive, because it will let some Mega CD games to play in right speed when using games from other regions.
So, if I have a HZ/Reg switch on my MD2, I should be able to play all MEgA/SEGA CD games? With the Totek Cart.
Yes, I think so.

I want this badly please make more, or am I late to the thread?!
Yeah, i'd be interested in one also!
Buy it here: http://products.genny4ever.net/megacart_v1x.html
Yeah, I'm interested too, but the only problem is, I need a SEGA CD.
Me to, but I got a Sega CD. Only problem is that I can't make a modification on my Genesis so the games won't be in the right speed. But I think I will send it to someone who can fix it ^^ I have tried to do it about three times but I can't sucess :(
I would like this, but it seems like it's not been tested with European MD1?
