OK; got it:
At the Megcart menu, select the second option called Backup. Press START+A together and all the saves from you're Sega CD will be backed up to the Megacart. Press START+C to restore it back; again this is for if you have deleted the saves and want them back on the console itself.

have just bought one of these this week, it came with box, cart and utility disk. i sort of expected a cable of some sort to come with this.
anyway, my aim is to procure bin cue files of jap/US games that i cant get in my country and play them on my console with this device. do i just have to burn the bin cue files to a normal cd'rs to enable me to do this and insert the megacart into my console?
The cables do something with a computer. Parallel and USB combo I think. I never tried them, haven't given sega cd games much of a chance or looked into its library too deep.

The cables are for putting ROMs on the cart straight from the PC to the cart itself; the parallel cable does the transfer, the USB cable powers it. What makinagenesis wants can be achieved without those cables. Right, first I'd suggest following that guide posted in the Sega CD Beta Burning thread to burn CDs. After you've got the CD burned and ready, plug the MegaCart into the cart slot, pop the CD in and power on the MD. Depending on the region of the game, hold one of the following buttons: A for American, B for Japanese or C for European - the Mega CD will then load the game on the disc, as simple as that.

Fonzie what are the differences of Megacart 1.1 and Tototek MD pro 64mb cart which has similar controller board as yours? Also if you could just implement usb controller directly to cart itself to be able to drive games from pc directly with usb cable as I have only superduper computer which dont have printer port anymore and in my closet I have printer port card but I am hesitating to put it inside my comp for these kind of things...
I just purchased one of these Megacarts and was just wondering whether anyone here can confirm whether or not this would also work on a Laseractive machine (I have a US region LA unit and Sega PAC) when playing Japanese region Mega LD games?
I've seen them used with the Wondermega so I believe they would work fine with the LaserActive as well. The difficult thing would be locating the PAC BIOS files. I have seen the PAC modded for dual regions before by a member here in this video:Quote:
