When the PS2 uses 240 line mode it is progressive, all the time? I guess I misread the way the 224-240 line resolutions in the Saturn and PS1 worked before. It has been a long time since I've looked for documentation on any 3D console though, so all of this is possibly out of date as well. All the same, these are all of the possible resolutions I was informed of for the Saturn and PS1.
Saturn:
Non-interlaced NTSC: 320X224, 320X240, 352X224, 352X240, 352X256, 640X224, 640X240, 640X256, 704X224, 704X240, 704X256
Interlaced: 320X448, 320X480, 352X448, 352X480, 640X448, 640X480, 704X448, 704X480
PS1:
non-interlaced 256X240, 320X240, 512X240, 640X240, 384X240
Interlaced 256X480, 320X480, 512X480 640X480 384X480
So, we are saying the odds are for the Playstation 2 games that don't support 480p are still progressive but are running in a 240 line mode?
