Where do you get these replacement cases? My Wukong came broken and the Star Odyssey one looks like the plastic cover was cut with a toenail clipper. Ironically enough when I got Beggar Prince the box was excellent and I was most impressed with the packagaing. I guess those cases are really hit and miss.Quote:

Yeah I like those SFT clamshells too, they're quite nice. I just wish 2/3 of mine weren't busted. One was surely broken in the mail, the other one just seems like it was badly cut at the factory. I'd like to replace them both if possible.
Mine had one of the little tabs that holds the cart in place snap after taking the cart out twice. It fits so damned tightly, even trying to get the cart in carefully snapped the plastic.
Makes me think that SFT is using harder plastic than the original clamshells... and more brittle as well.

So why don't you guys just buy a cheap Genesis game and use the clamshell? Just think... a REAL Sega clamshell made to the high quality standards of the 90's that cannot be achieved by current Chinese technology... and for cheap!
Honestly, that would be much easier for me. If I were to get a replacement, there is no guarantee that it would be of better build quality. Go with what you know works. Lodge a complaint, sure. Warn other buyers as well. But take care of it yourself if you have the means. You'll be much happier.
That said, I have not yet needed to replace any of my SFT boxes.
Strange. I got nice boxes (same as with my MegaCart), fantastic artwork, truly awesome software. And at an incredible price I should add! (not to mention the resale value if you for whatever reason decide you don't want to keep your game).Quote:

Man, that has nothing to do with competition. People just ask for a quality product. If it was 1992 and SoR2 was released in a crappy plastic clamshell, people would complain.
Mine haven't, ok? But they definitely look and feel worse than any of my other MD cases, especially the glossy plastic cover.
And of course it's great having two (or more) companies publishing new games for my favorite console. But constructive criticism is never a bad thing.

I'm not writing here as a WM employee trying to mock on SFT. I'm writing here as a SFT customer who for the most part is satisfied with my purchases of them, but there are some things I don't like and no-one should ever try to gag me for not expressing them, because I have the full right to do so, not just because of free speech but because I hope it may lead to even better products in the future.
I haven't meant to address you directly. I haven't paid a lot of attention to who complains about what. I just felt like there is waaaay too much negativity going on ..."lately", I meant to add but actually it feels like this is going on at least since Wukong's release. I think it goes to show how quickly people can adapt to a situation and take it for granted. So instead of being amazed by the sheer wonder of a new game being released we complain and complain and complain to the point where the actual game does not matter anymore.
You must have missed the many positive comments about the game here. And you're the one to talk. You complained a bloody lot about the languages in Pier Solar.
Oh, come one. To me that was the single flaw in an otherwise perfect project, one that I felt could have been avoided knowing that there indeed was a member here who offered to help you out.
And I did my share ofcomplaiconstructive criticism regarding Star Odyssey's cover layout, as I preferred the original layout as presented at the French retro game convention where the game was officially announced.
I like the Japanese version of the cover as well
So has anyone here who placed an order during the first 5 days actually received their copy of the game? I am in the US and ordered it on 6/22 but have yet to receive a shipping confirmation or the game itself.
It would be nice if CMA came by and gave more than "will be shipped to you as soon as possible" to those first orderers still waiting. There's obviously been a delay, but I don't think it can be attributed to an anniversary this time.
I found another bug in the game. At the starport of the 3rd planet, there is a bank. The building is marked with an asterisk instead of a C.
Use playtesters next time, Brandon. You obviously can't catch everything on your lonesome.
Also, it froze once when I pressed start at the title screen. I thought for sure my saves would be gone since this is a Super Fighter Team game, but they were still there.

Geez. Give the man a break. I once waited three months for a $2 Chinese Knock-Off GameCube 16 Meg memory card. And I was pretty fucking happy when it arrived. :? During those two months I had zero complaints. Why? Because I had plenty of that thing they call "a life" to worry about in the mean time.

Ugh, SFT shitty clamshells. I subbed my Beggar Prince box for Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine so that Beggar Prince would look more like an actual Sega game, but now poor Mean Bean Machine looks like shit on the bookcase. Need to go find a cheap sports game to save it from a fate destined for Beggar Prince. Sounds like I'll need two for when Star Odyssey shows up.

Whatīs with the 16 megabit? Is this an error since the japanese version did only have 8? Or did you decompress everything and stored it without compressing after your reworking of the game? Or do you just mean you used 16 Mbit ROM-chips, but the actual data is only about 8 Mbit?
I think there was some confusion about the MEGA POWER of Zaku too when it was released, like mixing up uncompressed raw data and what is really stored due to compression.

I'm betting this is what is the case since the wording is "comes on a 16 megabit cartridge" or something like that. It's like advertising a 20 litre tank when it is only filled with maybe 11 litres. Like I said before, I wouldn't even bother mentioning the memory of this game. It's too old to really be of much relevance. Though I wouldn't be ashamed of an 8 Meg game.
