I just got mine last week and I ordered it at the end of June I believe.

While I know I got my copy some time ago, I'm curious... how many more people from the original 300 copy run (ordered from June 21 to June 27 if I recall) are still waiting for their orders to ship/arrive? And why is it taking so long for them to get their games?
I mean, the games/manuals/boxes are already produced, right? So what's the hold up in getting them shipped? Yes, I know CMA is working multiple jobs, but it seems to me this should have a much greater priority than it's being given, since people have paid for the games that are done and ready to ship (yet apparently still just sitting there).
Still waiting on mine and it was either ordered on the 27th or 28th of June.
I ordered a replacement box ages ago after I beat the game (the box broke when I was going to re-insert the cart there and shelf the game) and it STILL hasn't arrived!
Still waiting, ordered July 15th or something.
Is Brandon still alive???
He said it himself, working 36 hours a day he has little time to visit forums nowadays. He promised he would respond to mails quickly though.
36 hours a day? That's kind of impressive considering a day only has 24 hours ^^.
Do you really think that it's enough?
Let's suppose that he's answering all the e-mails from his customers. OK.
But what about the guys like me that were considering to buy the game and are reading all this negative feedback?
If he does not have enough time to post here once in a week, how will he manage to ship the games? Oh well, this makes sense.
I never said I think itīs enough.
But to be fair, he did at least say so, so him not posting here is not a surprise. Would be even worse if he did not post here, made no announcement about it and was not available via e-mail either.
So while itīs not a good situation, it is at least not like he dropped off the face of the earth.
I certainly would not order anything from him atm myself, and rather wait until he has his stuff settled and can spend an adequate amount of time for the SFT business.
I'm wondering if I should ever buy from him again...it has been 3 months since I ordered...there really is no excuse for this length of time to pass...he has my money collecting interest and I have nothing to show for it. If Brandon is really that busy then why even bother with SFT? If he wants his business to be taken seriously then he has to conduct it as such. If the product said 'In stock' as it did when I ordered it I as a consumer have an expectation that a copy will be reserved and shipped in a timely manner. He shouldn't have allowed all these people to pay if there wasn't any stock left.
I purchased Legend Of Wukong a month before Star Odyssey and it arrived in 3 weeks (shipped the second week) and I was very happy with SFT....now not so much.
I hope Brandon learns from this major mistake and makes sure that ample supply is in place before he makes another high profile release.
Has he been keeping people up to date on what is going on? He's definitely not tending to the people in this thread.
It would be one thing if he would frequently update people about the cause(s) of the delay, but if he is just leaving all of us hanging then... It's kind of not cool.
Uhm.
The latest news on the official website reads:
"June 22, 2011: Star Odyssey available for ordering and immediate shipping"
I must say, if you do have a website with a news section, some mention of the problem would be in place.
And at the same time I can still order the game.
Brandon is definitely starting to lose a lot of credibility. Gamers won't forget.
He should immediatly stop all sales on the site till its resolved....right now it seems like he is stealing everyone's money and is gonna run with it. He should not have started a 3rd job if he can't handle the 2nd. And if SFT goes down the tubes...he might need a 4th and 5th then.
im not surprised about how SFT is now being handled .... from the sounds of it brandon is an arrogant cunt, hope your reading this BC
fishy fishy
It would be nice if he just sent out a general update. Something along the lines of I know you have been waiting so long, I've completed orders through whatever date, and expect a shipment in the next 30 days or something. I don't mind waiting, but an update every few weeks would be nice.
He has indeed created an update. The game is officially sold-out.
Good for him. Hopefully this means a second run for those who didn't get a chance to buy it the first time. But for others like me, I also hope this means he is now free to start production on a new Genny title once the orders have been mailed. I, for one, wouldn't mind a chance to purchase Beggar Prince.

Someday.
..
Maybe.
:p
Hence why I said "once the orders have been mailed." You did quote me on that, did you not? ;)
I did take what you wrote as sarcasm since it read like now that he posted this, he has time to do this and that after he's done mailing the other thing. It read like a chain of events that could take place before christmas, and there's certainly nothing fast about his way of getting SO into the hands of the people that paid for a copy.
hope i get my soon if they've sold out ordered mine 8th of july and still waiting
I ordered my copy as soon as the site let you do it, and still havent got it. When I emailed him for a status update. He said that they were on back order and there has been production delays.
I've actually been pretty patient about the whole thing, but this experience hasn't particularly inspired thoughts of swift decisions and rapid action from SFT. I'd love another shot at Beggar Prince and Legend of Wukong, but I'd actually be shocked if that was an honest possibility within the next 6 months. I suppose that it's unfortunate that SO is my first experience with SFT.
What's funny is that this thread is a semi-regular reminder that I still don't have my copy. If not for this thread, I probably would have completely forgotten that I even ordered it, and eventually recieving the game could have served as a truly surprising moment (a sensation that I rarely experience anymore).
For anyone who's interested, I have some side by side pictures of the original and new version of this game:

I think each copy has their own perks. The SFT version has much nicer artwork on both the cartridge and insert. The hang tab is also much better. The Japanese one has a better clam shell, and the manual artwork is much better. The Japanese one also has a useless insert.
What do you guys think looks better?
I'm pretty sure I'm never going to get this. It's far too late to file a PayPal claim since I paid for it 3 and a half months ago. So I guess I won't be getting my money back, either.
This is the first SFT game I've bought so I don't have any basis for comparison, but did anyone have this much trouble when ordering their other games?
Haven't any of you written to Brandon and complained? I'm sure at least you'll get a response and an explanation.
@oldman - I picked up Beggar Prince and it wasn't like this.
@Zebbe - I intentionally haven't because I didn't want to harass him; guess it couldn't hurt.
I have emailed him...his response is the same crap here about how the game is on order and will arrive when he gets it....it does NOT take 3+ months for stuff to ship from china...its an excuse....either he is too lazy to run his business properly...or he took our money and is waiting to order them at a later time (probably didn't have enough orders to warrant a full order and is hording the money until he does).
Week by week the time flies by and I still don't have my game...Brandon wasn't employed by Working Designs now was he?
Gee whiz it's so nice of them to consider another print run.Quote:

I remember when some guys were complaining after a month without news and some people were so avid defending SFT.
So much space and credit has been given to Brandon... He could offer some real shipping dates to those customers that are waiting for more than 3 months after the payment (and no pre-orders were taken).
I paid for my copy back in early June IIRC (first week, I think). I'll have to recheck. Haven't received it yet, but I honestly forgot all about even buying this. Been so busy these past few months.
He just responded - said that as of yesterday the new order was "a few" weeks away and that our orders would go out when the stock gets to him.
Then you might get to finally play it around New Years... maybe
Sounds like Brandon bit off more than he could chew as far as accepting orders before the product was ready. He should have only accepted 300 orders (or however many units he had) before the page automatically changed to a "Sold out try again next year" page.
