I got introduced to this song thanks to the brilliant movie The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.
What a goth. :p
I chuckled at the Google ad that popped up over this, it was for some kit to test rainwater for chemicals.
The wife has the "Absolute Garbage" DVD and this music video looks *amazing* on there. Just looking at it, you'd never know the video is 15 years old. They must have used film for the video as it is crystal clear.
The anime chick has nothing to do with the song, but this was the only upload I could find of the studio song that didn't have a video with it.
I'm a big big Perfect Circle fan. Even more so than I'm a Tool fan. I know, that's sacrilegious. I just prefer their more accessible music.
"Passive" is the only original song on the album Emotive... sort of. Technically, it was originally a song by Tapeworm - a collaboration between Maynard James Keenan and Trent Reznor (my head would've exploded had they actually released an album), but was never released. I love it.
Moby - Bodyrock
The actual video only adds to the badassness of this song
RA RA RASPUTIN
Lover of the Russian queen
There was a cat that really was gone
RA RA RASPUTIN
Russia's greatest love machine
It was a shame how he carried on
Haven't seen the movie, but the music is wonderful.
I still have her vinyl. How amusing!

Ferry Corsten you grinning tool, this is trance and your music video is cheesy and not the good cheese either. I still like that album, but this vid sucks.
This is the original song that FC 'entranced' his hit from. Whenever I show this to hip clubbers they sneer and jeer. Feckless slobs.
The best version of the Guile theme ever, alongside the one from SF2: SCE
This is new for me:

Somewhere on the Otherside of Nowhere
Powerman 5000
2009
I truly believe Powerman 5000 is an underrated band. No really. Seriously. Yes, their image is a little goofy, and watching front-man "Spider-One" dance around during his performances is embarrassing for all, yet you can't deny they know how to create catchy, accessible, and fun music. Go back and listen to Tonight the Stars Revolt!, it's very good.
What happened to that band? The one who created such infectious rockers as "When Worlds Collide", "Nobody's Real", and "Automatic"? How come Transform and Destroy What You Enjoy failed to live up to the bands potential? Whatever the answer, Powerman 5000 is back in top form with Somewhere on the Otherside of Nowhere.
Somewhere on the Otherside of Nowhere is just plain old good fun. It evokes memories of Tonight the Stars Revolt!, and even Hellbilly Delux by Rob Zombie (not a coincidence, considering the front-men's shared lineage). There's blazing hard-rock guitars, infectious grooves, electronic beats, everything you'd ever want out of this type of band.
The album starts ferociously with "Show Me What You've Got", but really impresses with the next two songs - which also happen to be the first two singles - "Super Villain" and "V is for Vampire". Put simply, from the year 2000 up until this point on the album, these two songs are the best PM5000 has produced. Luckily, the best is yet to come.
"Time Bomb Baby" and "Make Us Insane" are the best two songs on the album, and both represent PM5000 at their full potential. Like what was offered on Tonight the Stars Revolt!, these two songs have that hard and heavy, yet totally catchy, anthem-like quality to them. It's great stuff, and it should be mentioned at how well mixed and produced the music actually is.
Other quality songs, albeit a bit more electronic, are "Do Your Thing" and "Get Your Bones". If you've got a good sub, you're in business. And "Horror Show" is a fantastic ending to a very good album.
Finally, the title track - Somewhere on the Otherside of Nowhere - is a more complex and subdued offering. It's beautiful, and shows the range that PM5000 has, particularly Spider-One's vocals.
Very few complaints: while what's there is very good, the album is short. And when compared to Tonight the Stars Revolt!, there's less of a theme holding the album together. Tonight the Stars Revolt! almost told a coherent sci-fi story, Somewhere on the Otherside of Nowhere doesn't approach that level of unity. That said, this is a Powerman 5000 album, I'm sure you're not looking for the next The Wall or Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
What's better than a lady with amazing vocal talent?
