They where fucking glorious.
I never owned one but I always kind of wanted one. I went from Matrox cards to the PowerVR II based Evil Kyro. I worked for a small computer builder when 3DFX was at its peak and all the other techs wouldn't consider anything else.
I remember having to download 3dfx...
OOO YES! lol I had a Voodoo 3 3500 PCI I belive it was. I still have a 3dfx Voodoo 5 mouse pad that I use everday its still stairing at me! ;) .

I had a 6MB Canopus Voodoo 1...was amazing.
I have a 3Dfx-licensed Diamond MonsterFusion card. I think it's Voodoo, or something. AGP 3.0v 16MB VRAM, don't currently own any PCs with a 3.0v AGP connector so I can't use it.
those where glorious times, loved carmageddon, quake, shadow warrior and the like!
I still have a couple systems built with win98se and nvidia/3dfx setups
One system is a V550 (nvidia Riva TNT 1 16MB) and a Monster 3DFX Voodoo 1 4MB.
Second system is a V770 (nvidia Riva TNT2 32MB) and a Sli'ed Monster 3DFX Voodoo 2 12MB setup.
then have a backup Monster 3DFX Voodoo 2 12MB.
I had a Voodoo Banshee then I got the Voodoo 3 3500 TV. It had a dongle where I could hook A/V equipment to and also output to a TV. I could also watch Cable TV on it and listen to FM Radio.

Just think about what could/would have happened if Sega went with 3Dfx for the GPU in the Dreamcast instead of NEC.
Lol. Voodoo ftw! It was my first card ever. Without it I wouldn't have been able to play all the late 90s awesomeness on my 3 gb win 95 NEC computer back in 97 and on. I remember rocket jockey, MDK, Star Wars The Phantom Menace Racer and many more so very fondly. :D
Oh well. Thanks for remembering it anyways. I had lot of fun with the free demo of it back then. Perhaps one day we shall see something of a 3rd installment passed the Atari 2600 version :D.
MDK was it man! I loved that game so much. Ribbon chute ftw!
Shit I was trying to remember the name of this damn video card a month or two ago. I remember the first time I set it up and played Quake with the gl drivers? It went from fake doom 3d to awesome looking real 3d.
Oh yeah I had several Voodoo cards starting with a 4MB Voodoo witch passed off the video card for normal 2D use and then switched over for 3D. Remeber those bypass VGA cables you would run from the video card to the 3D accelerator? Hey it was just like the 32X! Then I think I had a Voodoo 3 3000 AGP. It was a standalone card with 16MB on it but after that the D3D games started to take over and the NVidia Geforce 256 cards started to out pace the 3DFX boys. I think I went from the Voodoo 3 to a Geforce 2 MX or some crap like that.
Well I could never afford the real cards like the Geforce 2 GTS or Ultra! But I remember when my buddy got a GTS and we were amazed by RAM sinks. Wow. We were easily amused.
I even remember when the first Radeon card came out.
I'd like to take this moment to plug my K6 system once more.

It uses a pair of 12 meg Voodoo 2s in SLI, combined with a 3D capable Geforce 2 in place of the traditional 2D only card. That means I can use whichever card is better suited to the game in question.
