Over the past few months I've been working hard on a website all of my own basically because I couldn't find anything similar that was dedicated to the UK NES scene. With this in mind and a lot of hard work I've come up with this:

See what you think guys but I'm hoping to build a decent sized community for the place, failing that it will be an ongoing resource for everything NES in the UK :D
Seems like a good site, and it was an interesting read, but... why is there so much America hate going on in there? I'm not even from the US and I find it unsettling.

Yeah we got a fair chunk of trash. I actually did a Top 10 Worst NES games list earlier year. You would think with such a small game library they would have avoided releasing some of them:

I watched that vid, it was awesome, those games do in fact suck. Question: any reason why UK NESers don't simply use an NTSC NES with a current tv and a converter in order to gain access to the complete Library?Quote:

Like all systems each country has it's fans and because there's different between regions there's always bound to be dedicated collectors. For me I've gone after the full set because it's what I grew up and 288 games is doable. There's no golden championship carts or Stadium Events in the UK so it can be finished :)

For awhile I've been mulling over something extra to help promote the site and with a few helpful contributions it was suggested that a booklet or mini magazine could work. We actually have a professional graphic designer on board who will be doing all the page layouts, design work etc. The plan is to offer this at retro events and pass it on in future to any donators to the site rather than sell it with a cash value stamped to the front. So for example anyone donating a couple of quid to the site or writing an article would get a copy.
With this in mind I'm trying my best to come up with as much decent and exclusive content as possible, the plan being that I won't reuse anything on the site. Of course I'm only 1 person and even I can't write everything plus keep the site going at the same time so I'm looking for some help. This is going to be available on the site for years to come and I plan to get a load printed in high quality (already contacted a firm), so it will get a lot of coverage.

In case anyone is worried there's a good mix of PAL and US stuff, even mention of the GameBoy in a NES standoff. Tried to cover as much as possible for a first issue and think there's enough for all to enjoy!

I didn't know an NES version of Elite even existed. The most popular version of it in the US is probably the PC one.
The great thing is the NES version of Elite is probably the best home edition ever made of the game for 8 Bit systems.
