Happy 20th European Mega Drive Anniversary
After checking a few sources, today seems to be the European anniversary of the Mega Drive. Strange that there's no topic about it already been made unlike the Japanese and the American one.
While Europe got the console two years after the Japanese and a year after the US unless importing counted, at least the range of launch titles were more than a few games.
Yes, some people did suffer from the 50Hz slower speed, large borders, RF cables and other negative points but some TVs did have RGB SCART which meant the best picture quality that was available at the time. As for Europe's contribution to the console, well there were good developers (Traveller's Tales, Scavanger, Novotrade, Factor 5, Codemasters, Psygnosis if they count), bad developers (Tiertex :yuck:), the in between (Probe, Software Creations) and the ones who hardly did anything (Ocean, Infogrames, Rare).
So happy 20th anniversary to the 16-bit High Defination Graphics and Stereo Sound console.
